That's all a motorcycle is. A giant fan.

You know what it means when someone says “the music is to loud”, right.
Thanks for the review, I love this bike at 236 km/h period.

Have you heard about the 1,300 engine coming out anytime in the near future?

Yeah in Germany on holiday currently and 140 kilometers per hour was scary in my hire car back in Melbourne oz it’s 110 and 130 in the north

Must be nice being able to ride how you like. Here in the UK a lot of our 60mph roads are being downgraded to 40/50mph. Speeding tickets are easy money.

@@6Twisted Well this is not accurate - there are still a number of national speed limit roads, the council is just reviewing certain roads, and reducing them to 40mph in accident black spots. I am a Paramedic, advance driver and a motorcyclist, and I'm very much FOR reviewing limits on roads that are high accident black spots. Sadly, you shouldn't blame the councils, you should blame the idiots who have disregarded appropriate speed on the roads...thus causing this review.

Get the tall screen if wind noise is a factor , also putting AirPod pro 2 s from Apple in your ears ,putting a balaclava over your head , reduces wind noise by approx 40 per cent .
Just make sure you have noise cancelling option on .
    They are like magic .

But outside the Autobahn, into back roads, how much more exciting is this bike compared to your RT? I had a blast with the R1250R in the French Alps :) but ended up buying a Bonneville T120 to cruise around Barcelona where I live, the perfect bike for me.

I cruise on my 2017 R1200R mostly on back roads and with the sport shield it is good at 140 to 150 kmph

I've said this all along with this bike (same for 2019-2022 versions) - the TFT screen is as aerodynamic as a refrigerator and creates massive turbulence straight at the riders neck/chest area, depending on their height. I've had (and have) other "naked" bikes and can cruise happily at the limit, yes you have air resistance - but this thing is just unpleasant. All the hard men who say "it's a naked - you expect it - just deal with it" - yeah - but look at all the forums and everybody is chasing different screens, there must be a reason. This bike has the ability to easily cross continents, but BMW seem to want to restrict it's top speed to 100kph. Serious design flaw. It spoils what is potentially a really fantastic bike. Well done for calling it out when so many others don't have the courage!

Hi John, well personally I don't have any turbulence problems with my R1250R at all without a screen, it's just wind pressure which is to be expected... I tried a bunch of different screens mainly because I wouldn't leave well enough alone, you know me 😂 My conclusion is that screens can reduce wind pressure but they can create turbulance where there was none before and also increase noise, and so I've gone back to naked, as nature intended 😁

It's a matter of getting used to it. Nothing else. I can ride comfortably about 180 km/h without annoyance. With fitted earplugs it's really no problem. Btw.: Riding without earplugs does damage to your hearing that connot be restored. So the noise aside: Riding on an naked bike on the Autobahn is really not as weird as many unexperienced riders think.
But: There are problems on the Autobahn, indeed:
    1. The view in the mirros. I cannot understand why this problem is not addressed by the manufacturers.
So many things on these huge displays nowadays, that nobody needs. But a review-camera, this would be a life-saver. I'd pay any amount for a bike that gives me that feature!! For if go low on the tank, as you have to to go fast on a naked bike, you just have no clue what is going on in your back.
    2. The wake! Cars are constantly getting bigger and chunkier causing massive wake turbulence. In my opinion that is the most dangerous thing for a fast motorcycle on the Autobahn. In former times when cars were smaller and had better aerodynamics, I never noticed that to be an issue. Now I do.
To sum up: Riding a naked bike on the Autobahn is doeable, but fun, no, it is not!

How you don't fly off the bike at 200 kph is amazing. Does the body of the bike (the gas tank) provide some wind protection? On my naked bike at 110 kph it gets fairly uncomfortable fighting the wind.

Well, just the „Autobahn“ isn’t fair 😂 … for a wonderful Power Roadster everything is ok, even the highway, just put a shield on it 👌🏻 … and hey, who wants to drive the “Autobahn” ?

Hello Scott. Why do you think BMW sets the speedometer 6% or so over what the actual speed is? I also get this feeling when riding my identical RT to yours.

What is the top speed of the 2023 BMW r1250r when you look online it's all different all over the place and I'm in the USA what is limited to what speed

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  ปีที่แล้ว

Well, all I can say is what it is here in Germany, 230 kph / 143 mph. It's not speed restricted here, the only speed restriction is 300 kph / 186 mph, but really only the super cars and bikes go that fast on the autobahn and then I never see those speeds when I'm on the autobahn, that's just crazy fast. The fastest I've ever been on the autobahn is around 270 kph (Hayabusa) and then I was passing everything, that was a stupid fast bike. I think that is speed restricted to 320 kph here, Suzuki found some kind of loop hole in the restrictions to get it that fast.

Naked bikes look cool and are cool for short trips, but at highway speeds *in* the highway? Forget it

Just get your chin on the tank Scott, besides it makes you feel alive! I can sit just below the Ton thats 100 mph no worries F900R . Get rid off all the wind noise and sit in a bubble, too much like a car !

Add passing a transport truck to the misery of the crap aerodynamics.
