      Laugh if you want, but it’s a salient point. As a Red Sox fan, we’re now a part of that Tampa Bay GM tree, and it feels like we’re always scraping the middle/bottom of the barrel for value guys. But if, when you put them on the field, they don’t run bases well (not quickly, but well), and they don’t hit the cutoff man, etc., that tanks a team super quick. Moneyball is all about talent. Baseball is all about execution.
      I think it means something that the best team in the sport is the one that plays the actual game the best. Now if only the owners hadn’t renewed Manfred, I’d say this sport is really going somewhere.

    Harold Reynolds said it best. It’s their lineup. They know what pitches are coming. Acuna gets on base a lot, then you have Harris up next, who’s looking fastball because Acuna steals so much. Then you have Riley, with a man on 1st and 3rd who’s also looking fastball, and so on. It’s all in the preparation and knowledge of the game. These guys not only know how to play, but they are students of the game and only get better and better. Just look at Ozuna, the guy is raking it lately. Love watching this team.

    Because their entire lineup as a whole has an OPS of .847, which is the exact same OPS that the AL leader in hits and average Bo Bichette has. In simple words, their offense is so dominant we may be witnessing history

    Braves are a hard team to copy because they hit on their picks and signed their young talent up, as soon as possible. Its pretty risky to do what they have done, not many teams are willing to pay big contracts to players 80 games into their rookie seasons. Not many teams will let elite talents like Freddie Freeman and Dansby Swanson walk and be able to successfully replace their production in trades with the 2nd best player at the position in Matt Olson and arguably the best catcher in the game in Sean Murphy especially considering these guys are entering their primes. If they go on to become a dynasty those will be viewed as once in generation type trades and moves.

      @@williamlevy1981 Name one sports team that, after years of being the best, hasn't had to completely restart everything when their star players retire. A perfect example of this is the NBA team, the Spurs (my favorite sports team by a significant margin). For 22 straight years, they maintained a regular season record of over 60%, never missed the playoffs, and secured 5 championships. However, when Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker retired, they underwent a challenging period and became one of the weakest teams in the NBA. They had to endure 4-5 years of rebuilding the team, ultimately selecting Victor Wembanyama as their first pick in the draft. With this, there's a promising possibility that a new era has now commenced.

They stay focused at all times, they minimize mistakes, they stick to the gameplan, and they play as a team understanding that hero ball isn't what gets them the pitches they need to score points, I need to actually do my part so the person behind me can get the pitch he wants so forth and so on and that's how we score runs and make the game easy.

    The BIG MISTAKE the Muts made was signing Nimrod and O'Neil to long term extensions. They didn't realize, like some did, that this 2023 fiasco wasn't gonna work.
    So, now they have two OK players not in the time frame with these guys they brought in as minor leagues at the trade deadline. Plus, they haven't figured out that they need to unload pretty much every player over 22 or so, in age. This should give them a large pool of top prospects to choose from in the 3-5 year future... Whenever they become ready for the majors.
    Alonso has got to be that huge trade chip that brings back at least 3 premium sure hit minor leaguers. They now need to move Nimrod and O'Neil with those huge extensions, when they could have done it before, and made it much easier. They aren't thinking of "new group age", they're thinking they can still "re-tool", but they don't have the minor leaguers ready for The Show. They simply don't get it!
    But, that's Great for us that hate the Muts! Those hapless Muts! Lololololololol 🤣🥴

    Analytics have ruined Baseball so much imagine the phrase “ being good at baseball “ being a foreign concept to some people. The nerds just sit there and crunch the numbers and send the lineup out to their puppet managers and than blame them when they don’t win.

      It’s really not that complicated - all hits are not created equally, and they get a lot of the more valuable ones. And walks lead to runs, but BA doesn’t give them any credit. OPS+ is just a summary metric of total run creation contribution, not contact hitting (which is what BA measures)

    I will take this one. They cheat. Repeatedly. It isn’t unique though. The south. Georgia the entire area cares little for character and integrity as long as you win. It was what? 4 5 years ago when the Braves were slapped with what? A 12 player fine on their farm system for repeatedly breaking the rules in international signing. Their former GM was banned from the game for life. I don’t want to hear a single word about how “dominant” Atlanta is. Their entire franchise is built on breaking the rules and not caring. Typical

    • @191518jc
      @191518jc ปีที่แล้ว

      You are an ignoramus. All players acquired by John Copollela, Braves former GM, were forfeited. And don't get me started on how many 13-14 year old Latin Americans the Dodgers have been cozying up to for the last 50 years. I think they had a sweetheart agreement with Fernando Valenzuela when he was about 10. Your definition of "cheating" seems highly selective.
