Ever since natrap kami nung Ondoy paranoid na ako kaya may emergency kit ako for our family of 3 na regularly kong inuupdate. Here are some of my suggestions:
    - pwede mong lagyan ng reflector tape yung bag mo para madaling makita sa dilim
    - whistle is a must. Tumatagos ang tunog sa rubble kesa ilaw.
    - you can also invest in solar or manual powered flashlight

Skip to 3:45 for the contents of my survival kit
    Some more tips from you:
    - Include a swiss knife, whistle and hydrite
    - Break down your cash into smaller bills
    - You can also bring a regular flash light (that uses batteries), or a solar powered one
Do your research & be prepared!

Great content! Suggestion: try to swap ur canned goods to food na nasa tetra pack (ulalam or whatever) and practice eating them if ure not sanay sa lasa. It's much lighter than the canned ones. And also remove ur utensils sa case, pampabigat lang yan. Bring the big black trash bag for multipurpose use, for poncho or any surface cover. And buy a necklace na pendant is a discreet whistle. Stylish and functional. 😉

    1. Modify your Emergency Bag to accomodate most tragedies na possible din naman mangyari sa bansa natin. Bagyo, ganyan.
    2. Resealable plastic for your documents. Since sa labas po yung pinakascenario mo, much better po na protected din yung documents sa water/rain.
    3. In Case of Emergency / Ice Card.
    4. Invest on protein bars or yung food na di lang isusurvive yung gutom kundi yung nutrients and energy na need ng katawan mo.
    5. Solar powered gadgets
    6. Multitools
Hoping and praying naman po na walang mangyaring ganon, but better be safe than sorry. God bless us all!
More power to your channel! :-)

Have two Bug Out Bags or BOBs...one sa house and car, you never know where you arr when the big one hits.
Get a nylon backpack that are rip resistant and waterproof, a raincoat, body wipes alternative for showering, smaller bills, battery operated flash light and radio, a good walking shoes.
Have a designated area for your family to meet up.
Also, cell towers, internet might go down indefinitely because these require power. So find a place that still have the old landline phones kasi they dont require outside piwer source and those will still be working usually sa sari sari store.
Have a contact number outside your region like sa province or outside the country where family members can leave their status...coz most likely you wont be able to connect to anyone near ground zero sa dami ng incoming calls that would bog down the system.

Hi Thea, you’re such an inspiration-so brave and determined!
I also had the same experience and I’m beyond terrified up until now. We were on the 17th floor of our unit when the earthquake happened but I can only imagine how scary it was for you, having been on 40th plus floor. We’re also near the fault line- about 2km away per PhiVolcs fault finder.
My initial thought after the earthquake was to go back to my parent’s house in Las Pinas or find somewhere else to live. But since our contract will not end until September, my husband and I have no choice but to stay but we’ve already decided to vacate the unit come Sept. We regret that we didn’t take into consideration the possible earthquakes that may occur in our area and if our building can withstand strong magnitudes based on structural soundness and such. I have to say that after I’ve watched your video, you gave me enough courage and strength to face the music. We’ll never know when the Big One will happen and where we’ll be when it does. All we can do is to always be prepared and to keep our faith. Thank you for this very timely and relatable content.
P.S. Took mental notes on the things I should buy tomorrow at ACE hardware para magaya ko emergency preparedness kit mo. 😊

Just saw this in my recommendation. Thank you for this Ms. Thea. I am just now planning to assemble my survival bag. This is very informative.
P.S., naiimagine kong after mo magshoot nagmamadali kang ibalik lahat sa bag mo kasi you said you werw being paranoid. 🤭

one thing i learned in yolanda was mosquito net (kulambo). good for one or 2 people size. its light and won’t take up too much space. it’s better than shlopping anti mosquito grease on your skin all the time. besides, DEET (which is the main ingredient in anti mosquito lotion) is not good for the skin in the long term. i don’t know why, but there is a phenomenon that can not be explained, is that after a major disaster, when all has calmed down, there are hordes of mosquitos everywhere. it was even featured in TV/youtube after the yolanda incident. so i guess i wasn’t the only one who noticed it...
