Her dad invented the tracer bullet. She is a competitive clay shooter. Runs everyday. Operates a studio and shop. She has to be the coolest person ever
Well no not really. A quick search will at the very least poke holes in that argument as tracers have been around since WW1 and not WW2 which is when her father developed his version for remington. The thing is there are several types of tracers if am not misstaken as far as how they work and caliber size etc. so her father probably developed 1 type of tracers for Remington but he didnt invent the actual tracer round. Note that she doesnt say he invented it either but rather she says "developed" which I suppose maybe is slightly different (non native english speaker here). Apperently the brittish had tracer rounds back in 1915 and the US 1917 that fit our current description of tracers but there are even earlier versions that use very different approaches to show impact locations (smoke on impact, smoke trails etc.) Hell they used to light cannon balls on fire to trace their shots but obviously the hand held versions (bullets) wouldnt come untill much later
Jeanie is the reason why I have a career! She saw something in me and offered me an internship at 15. I decided to pursue a career in sculpture, went off to get my BFA in sculpture, and today am a full time artist. I had no idea it was possible to mix business and art back then, and thanks to her guidance and exposure to so many mediums it really set me up for success. Thank you Jeanie! The art community loves you.
Such an incredible woman and community she has helped to build. And a truly wonderful series, Brad, I hope you're proud because this is amazing content!
Brad, your Local Legends pieces are some of the best video content being published today across all media outlets. Thank you for what you are bringing to the world. This is special. Keep bringing it!!!
Omg, Brad, every single episode of this gets better and better and *better!* I've always been interested to know how glass blowing goes about, and this was a fantastic demonstration through the whole process. Every single person you meet on Local Legends are just the most amazing people imaginable! Love it, Brad, thanks for all you do, and huge thanks to the extremely talented people you meet with.
MAN!!! One of the things I like about you, Brad, is that you know how to do so many things. What I REALLY like about you , though, is that you eagerly learn about SO many new things. This episode is totally fascinating. Garrith is a great teacher. The lady that owns the place is a pure delight!
This woman reminds me of my grandma so much, she was also named Jeanie. She lives such a colorful life, she used to tell us about the things she did and we would sit in awh and I could tell she loved seeing the joy in our faces. My favorite story she told me was that she loved going out dancing so much her friends called her Jeanne Jeanne the Dancing Queen 😊 Anyways, she died a terrible death suffering from Alzheimer’s and it was terrible.
Brad and crew doing an admirable job of restoring my faith in humanity. Couldn't have highlighted a better cast of characters than those folks in Nola. Hats off to everyone involved! 🍸
This one and the "fish whistle" episode are my favorites. I love local legends! Keep up the great work and maybe swing my Milwaukee, WI for some of our legends.
The infinite energy and love of learning from Brad, the efficient heartwarming guidance from Jarrith, the inspirational story and personality from Jeanie - this episode is just pure gold. Thank you so much for putting this content out for all of us ❤
These local legend videos just keep getting better and better. Not only is the content fun to watch but the people are so amazing and passionate. These make me so happy, keep up the great work!
Brad, you have moved way past that bad ass picture of Jimi Hendrix, God rest his soul… I’ll watch you blow glass all day man! What other kind of glass did you make man?! Ms. Jeanie is a true inspiration!🤟
such a charming lady. only saddness being how rare those things are. and how so few people get that kind of freedom and exp. So great that their art space gives so much back to the community. Truly a gem, of a space, that hopefully the city appreciates.
I love the people who are highlighted through Local Legends. Not only the main focus of the video, but the people who work there are always gems of humans
One of the best videos I have seen in ages. You are killing it Brad, what an amazing place! If I ever make it to Louisiana I’ll be stopping by for sure!
The Local Legends stuff has gotten better and better. It wasn’t what I was expecting on this channel at first, but it’s definitely grown on me. Awesome stories and experiences.
Love it. I got into this art accidentally signing up for a class that was study of glass and involved hand on glassblowing at Palomar college. Very cool, shaped some of my views and what not…
I miss NOLA so much! I lived there in the 80’s. Coolest place ever! So easy to navigate even though it’s not supposed to be. I plan to visit again soon now that I’m back in Florida. I’ll definitely check this place out. Not sure how I missed it. Awesome lady with incredible energy! I’m jealous.
Local legends is some of the best content on TH-cam, and seeing the excitement of making and learning in Brads eyes in this episode was infectious. So much energy! Awesome stuff
You bring tears to my eyes, brother. I love everything you put out, but this series is really special. You highlight such awesome, yet down-to-Earth people. Your excitement and wonder in learning something new from people with true passion for those things is really incredible as well. I really can't get enough of your channel. Super glad you got your own thing going and are doing all the stuff you want to do. Amazing.
Brad, this was truly an awesome experience which I was able to vicariously live out through you. Jeanie is a wonder woman and Jareth is a terrific teacher! Absolutely LOVED this! Keep up the stellar content bud!
I kinda wanna go there for my first visits of the States, she and her family are worldwide Legends Once again, thanks Brad, in so many ways you influence and inspire me, and sooo many others! Go meta and do a Local Legends with yourself! Love from Saguenay (you'd have a blast over here bro!!), Quebec
This series is incredible. You and your connection with these local legends is so genuine and heartfelt and truly beautiful to watch. Uplifting content, Brad. Thank you.♥️
Absolutely amazing video! All of those people seem extremely nice and genuinely passionate about their craft. Local Legends is a wonderful way to shed a spot light on an this amazing community.
I once had a friend that was a glass blower. I helped him cut down a big fir tree, mill it into timber, pour a foundation, build a shop and finish it out. The furnace was fired up, I made one paperweight, and his family sold the place and moved upstate. I could have been a contender. I mostly hope that the art space that we created lives on and isn't just stuffed full of broken lawnmowers. The piece was egg shaped and sized with three blue and white waves going around.
Loved this video and the series. The passion shared is inspiring. Watching people who truly love their craft, whether cooking, art, teaching, or sacrificing to make others happy, is amazing .
She’s absolutely awesome! I hope to be half as awesome as Jeanie when I’m the same age as her! Glass art is so cool! My first ever fieldtrip in America, was watching a glass blowing show at the Tacoma Dome so this brought back lots of nostalgia for me!!!
Thank you Brad! Every video ive watched of yours have pushed me more and more to try out the things i find interesting you're a massive light in this dim world and i thank you again for sharing yourself with the world
This is the raddest place. I've been by hundreds of times and finally went in after I had bought some of the artists' work at the Frenchman Art Market. It's absolutely magical.
Her dad invented the tracer bullet. She is a competitive clay shooter. Runs everyday. Operates a studio and shop. She has to be the coolest person ever
Her just casually dropping the fact that her father invented the tracer bullet is absolutely crazy.

Apparently the tracer was invented by the British? Regardless, i love her 😂 Brad might have also found a new hobby! I NEED to give that a go!
Jarrith was one of the best teachers I've ever seen! super positive and great guidance. What a great person
Thank uuuuu

What a fascinating lady. How a person gets to be over 80 years old without losing their zest for life is beyond me.

“Yea chef” he’s always in chef mode hahaha I love brad

Brad is my 10-year-old self. I love this. And his teacher is used to dealing with 10-year-olds. He's the local hero of this show.
Here to say, like every video we need a full local legends theme. Thanks😇
