Awesome pond! Viewing through ur clip, guess u need to improve your filming skill. It’s make ppl feel dizzy watching it. Don’t move your camera here and there a lot. Slowly. And stay focus for a bit longer for each screen on owners, then follow by just the kois/pond. You can do better. Cheers! ; )

I have started sharing these with my 15 years old son, telling him that if he works hard that he can have a pond and fish like that!!! ( assuming he doesn’t get married and have expensive kids!!)

Fantastic koi collection, love the garden. Must be nice to view from their balcony. I’m surprised they don’t heat the pond. Makes a change to see different types of koi.
Amazing pond and was surprised when I saw the drum system, at first I thought it was running the whole pond before seeing the huge bio chambers ! Lovely to see a non- go sanke pond, a lot of ponds here in the UK are mainly Go Sanke. That ochiba really is a stunning fish ! Looking forward to seeing the next video !

The simplicity is awesome, from the design to the koi. Interesting, was going for brushes but it would have taken a lot of space, so went for the RDFs.

Excellent pond! Impressive selection and variety of koi. Was curious what media they used in those huge bio filters and how they backwash. Do they swim in their pond - looks like they could. Any concern of predators and if so, what protection do they have?
Hi Tucker, its the oase media. to be honest its too long ago for me to remember the whole backwash.

In all variety of koi? I love gurumo too, but it usually smaller than the chagoi and not as gracefull as gosanke'sh. And definitly shy kind of koi. I know this cause I have one.

Can you please tell me, how do the fish survive winter without heating? Does the water not freeze? How do the fish survive the freezing conditions?
I am working on creating a natural fish pond, no concrete, all natural, to see if that is possible. I am in an alpine region in Australia where the temperatures go down to minus 15 degrees Celsius in winter.

With the winters they have there can you provide some info on what they do for cold temps?
The koi go to the bottom and hibernate. So long as it is at least 4 feet deep

Amazing. Many questions. How old is the oldest fish? How do they keep birds away? How many baby koi do they have each spring ? It’s stunning.
Hi Jennifer, I like questions :) the fish are big enough to avoid birds to even try it… beside they have a dog too. The oldest fish will be around 10 years old I guess, the most younger. They don’t have baby koi because they don’t let the eggs hatch or only keep female koi 😃
@@TheKoiPartner Thanks so much! Do you know the average age that koi live to be in a natural pond? I have about 100 young koi and shubunkins and lately i've been battling birds. But i have several new solutions going so hopefully we have solved it. Thank you.
