We have some SAS videos on here and on sale as well on our website... and I believe we will have a new cockpit Blu-ray with a flight into Arlanda coming in the next few months...
Pitty they went bankrupt they were actually the elite airline of Australia, offering high end quality service compared to any other airline at the time.
I took this airline company in 1981, arriving in Australia from Italy we were flyng with Alitalia, we scheduled to land in Sidney, there were a strike of a personal of Alitalia so we landed in Melbourne, after few hours we took a plane of Ansett to Sidney.
I visited Australia in 2001, visiting family in Melbourne and Brisbane. I enjoyed my time in Brisbane so much that I wanted to go back a second time. I booked a round trip flight with Ansett, and just my luck: my flight was cancelled because it was on the day Ansett shut down. I couldn't rebook my flight with another carrier. I lost $300.00.
its a shame they went bust great footage also back then i remembered the old terminal one where the old observation deck was still there many happy memories
For some reason when I am tired, sad, lonely, or scared, etc., watching planes land and take off has been the only cure my whole life, I always said I would marry the man that would take me to see this, (I live near Houston,TX. so Bush is what I would think of), for some reason men that don't fly don't get this, I am still looking for the one that thinks this is extraordinary. Michele.
The demise of a great airline bought out by Air New Zealand. Poor management and crazy aircrew structuring. A sad end for what Reg Ansett tried so hard to build. The crazy thing is the 767's were reconfigured for a 3 person flight crew though the plane is designed and certified for 2. Just an example of the stupid union policies before the end of a 2 airline agreement and the start of deregulated airlines.
ahh ansett!! was lucky to do my year 10 work experience at melbourne! best week of my life to date!!
Great video! I flew to Sydney so often in the 90's, this brings back memories.
Times have certainly changed.
Impulse Airlines is also on this video...

Ansett Aviation Training exist in Melbourne/Australia.
1997, I flew in an Ansett 747 from Sydney to Osaka. The flight was OK, as I remember.
Don't you just love those screaming 767 engines
In 2001 I was booked to fly with Ansett Australia from Sydney to Perth but they put me on Air New Zealand from Auckland to Perth.
Beauty!
such a tragedy for such a great airline
Air New Zealand and Qantas are great airlines.
Ansett leased/bought their 747-300s from Singapore Airlines.
Anyone remember Compass/Impulse Airlines back in the day?
I know Ansett 767 was the only or one of a very few that insisted on a F/E panel!
