Great Video. We went through the same process. VFS too about 5 months just to verify our documents (Marriage and Child’s Birth Certificate) before sending it to the Embassy for legalization. However, we were lucky with the immigration application. It took lesser time to process our RP.

It's absurd to pay 220 EUR per doc for verification and yet have a turn around time of 5 months. In Africa, we take ourselves for granted. A serious govt should feel embarrassed that VFS, a foreign agency is verifying documents already authenticated by an agency of the government of Nigeria. There was indeed a country.

I did the application online by myself with my computer, I only had to go to the service point (vfs) in Abuja for Biometrics, Identification and submission of some documents. It’s part of the process.

I’m so sorry for the late response.
If you have a contract already, they work with the start date the company has given you.

You need to remember that there is a kind of work visa, which is a Visa for seasonal work. It is different process and permit from the Residence Permit for work.
It is also possible that since people have different personal histories and circumstances, and the amount of work and things to check by the Finnish Immigration Services can take fairly different times, especially if there is need for additional questions.
The numbers of applications also change, so the workload they have varies giving different delays. For these reasons there are public average processing times on the Finnish Immigration website to give some estimates given their current workloads.

I expect that individual guiding wouldn't be a good approach.
People who are interested in moving to different countries are in my view more likely successfully longer-term, if they just do the research themselves and learn about opportunities and processes themselves. This of course assuming that there is sufficient public guidance and information available to be discovered.
I have this suspicion that "handholding" in the matters could easily be counterproductive even misleading. People need to make their own decisions, own commitments and become knowledgeable enough about labor market, career opportunities, regulations, lifestyle etc. to make their own informed decisions. Once they have the knowledge, they can also handle the immigration process by themselves.
The only really always beneficial guidance I can think of I can give is what I am already doing by trying to give reminders and pointers to reliable official sources in some comments.
I am reacting to discussions or content, which TH-cam algorithms have recommended for me. I am not creating content or in any other way more involved with the topic, just writing some comments. Hopefully they are helpful for someone.
