- In this video, the very FIRST steps to take in getting a residence permit to relocate to Finland as a spouse (with or without a child) is explained in details as I have experienced this first-hand. This video was made to help the relocation process be easier and go smoothly as any one interested in relocation would be aware of the process they are about to embark on- No surprises. This way things are easy, time and resources are well utilized.

Thanks for this well delivered video. If the spouse in Finland makes the legalisation application on behalf of the spouse in Nigeria, there won’t be any need for the embassy to send the legalised documents to Finland. In fact, there is an option to pick the legalised document from the embassy if a power of attorney has initially been provided as part of the application. Making an application on behalf of one’s spouse in Nigeria ultimately puts the spouse based in Finland in the loop - there is therefore no room for doubt from point of view of the embassy.
Also, When the documents arrived Finland, I registered them at Maistraatti before sending them back to my wife.
Oh really? I don’t think my husband had to do that. Did the registration at Maistraatti when I came to Finland.
@@ChisomsSpace Maistraatti is part of local administration handling some tasks including being a customer service place for the population data service, which actually keeps register of the population etc.
So it is not totally clear what was registered in Maistraatti.
It could be that the husband just updated his marital status or information about children in the population data service register.
What about if the whole family of 6 moving at the same time? Both parent has Social Health Care Certificate to work as a care assistance at Finland

please I have a question I am student moving from Czech to Finland but i dont need residence permit in finland because i already have a czech residence certificate , however, I will need to send apply for notification of mobility instead of residence permit. my question is do they ask for your partners residence permit ? because with notification of mobility, Certificate of right of residence is what would be issued to me not residence permit.

I think your child’s birth certificate is the most important document. That’s the one that needs to be authenticated & legalized. Though you might need your marriage certificate or something similar especially when they need information about the child’s guardians.

I would like to migrate with my son and I'd like to know more how to accomplish this.
There is a Finnish governmental authority the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) , which makes the decisions about immigration related permits. On their website the is information about the legal requirements and processes, also in English.
