How many hours did it take to play this game decently at least? I mean not as good as on this video, but at least confidently using weapons and combos...

Depends on person, for me it was like 20 hours but in dmc 4 which is much harder than 5

true dmc4 are indeed has harder mechanic compare to dmc5. but as far as i've learned. you gotta memorize the combo with different weapons and guns and make it creative as possible. and also you have to memorize the attack pattern on certain bosses and plan your next attack with it.
