Awesome explanations, really loved the way you explained that. I teach in Fiji and have a couple of questions; 1. How often and how do you rotate the centers, if you are helping the kids that with reading? 2. what happens when a student has finish an activity in one center? 3. How do you determine which child goes to which center
Thank you! This was so informative. I taught 3rd grade for two yrs and I love centers. It was my favorite part of the day. Prepping for it takes time to get into a routine and not add more work to my prep but after awhile it is so second nature. I took a break due to covid and now my option to go back to my school is 1st grade and I couldnt wrap my head around 1st grade centers since I barely know the standards and what they can or cant do. They seem so little to me lol Ur vid made so much more sense (I was already thinking of epic and read to another center)
I love your center. Though I'm not a literacy teacher I do check out your videos when you upload your videos. Sometimes I do find something that I can sneak into my classrooms (I hope that's okay!).
I would love to see your resource page that you mentioned in your video for listen to reading but I am having trouble locating the link. Can you help? Thank you so much!!
How do you assess and grade what they do in centers? I see you have their clip on the writing process chart, is that something they are working on in whole group with you?
@@KristenBowenteacherteacher Hi! I copied and pasted some the questions I would also love the answers to! :) 1. How often and how do you rotate the centers, if you are helping the kids that with reading? 2. what happens when a student has finish an activity in one center? 3. How do you determine which child goes to which center
Thanks, a friend of mine is a teacher... she seems swamped. I'm "gifting" you to her! AH Mazzzzzing! lov the idea of the QR codes. I don't mess w/ mailchimp but I'm sure this is replicable... KW
I love daily 5 in Grade 1, struggling with having them have open choice. Everyone seems to want to run to Listen to reading. How do you manage free choice? Post a vid!
My lead teacher tried to talk me into open choice to make it more fun for the kids but I felt uncomfortable and waited on it. She did it and it was a mess lol I prefer structured centers 😅 I feel like they get a chance at "choice" if they can choose between two worksheets that count the same like the writing in this vid.
With each new activity in the bins, do the students come up to you and say, “What do I do?” Do you find yourself having to explain how to do each activity or are your students good about reading directions and figuring it out for themselves?
I love this! So glad I clicked it. I’m going into my first IN PERSON year of teaching and want to utilize this!
I am so glad I clicked your video. I've been struggling between daily 5 or must do may do. I love putting choices within the stations.

I'll have to check out that book - thanks for showing your space and reading centers!
what is your resource for the QR code library for your listening station?

Looks incredible. You are amazing.
Please post the info for the QR codes! That is such a wonderful idea!
I am trying to incorporate these type of centers in my classroom! Thank you for this!
How ensure that every student uses all the centers? How do you switch centers when the time comes?
Sua sala de aula é muito legal, vou tentar incorporar essas ideias na minha sala de aula aqui no Brasil.
Thanks, for the awesome video. Where can we find the QR Codes for the books?? thanks, again.
Where’s the link for the listening center apps?
Thank you for sharing!
Hi! could you explain me more how do you work the phonics please! ?
It looks interesting but I didn´t really get it
Can you do two or three centers?
I am interested in the list of listening center apps, but don’t see the link

Kristy Dodson I would love the link too. 🤗
Awesome set up for teaching at ths grade level

Wonderful! I am wondering how the students know where they go every day? How do you manage to check all of their work?
Hi! Thank you for your video. What do you do at your small group table? How do you work with kids to try and advance their reading levels?
I am struggling to implement this with Covid. How’re you doing it??
What do you do for math? Do you use daily 5 too?
Ms., I have to tell you... You just saved my day! ;)
Aww thanks!!

How much did your carpet cost you? oh my goodness it is beautiful!!
Are you still using the Daily 5?

Daily 5 works great, but don’t try it without reading the whole book first. These are different from traditional centers. They are learning stations.
