is there an issue with the randomizer and seamless coop causing areas to become unplayable? for example in mt gelmir everytime someone dies they will get kicked and then not be able to load back in until the host leaves that area. this happened with us in caelid previously but rerolling enemy randomization seemed to fix it for that zone but now mt gelmir and volcano manor are both fucked
This video is a little old now, but most of the steps still work on newer versions of the mods. The only problem I had is that seamless coop couldn't find the .ini file on startup, which I solved by putting it with the .dll file in the mods folder. Other than that, great guide!

Followed this step by step to try and play with friends, had to change one thing with the coop mod, had to copy both files that were in the "seamlesscoop" folder into the mods folder, as well as drag the folder over :D hope this helps someone

This was a very easy guide to follow and worked well for us to set up a seamless coop + item/enemy randomizer mod; and 2) to recommend zipping the ModEngine folder before uploading it to Google Drive or whatever. I uploaded the whole folder as you recommended, but somewhere between uploading it and my friend downloading the folder, at least a few of the randomizer mod files went missing (despite GDrive showing complete upload/downloads). It took us a while to troubleshoot this as seamless coop Elden Ring loaded fine and my friend's items were randomized but not his enemies and nothing was throwing errors. Once I re-uploaded my ModEngine folder as a zip for him to download, it worked flawlessly. Cheers!
Update to this tutorial: I just installed these mods today, and there is now a slight deviation required from the steps presented in the video. When installing the seamless co-op mod, instead of putting the .ini and .dll files in separate folders, they BOTH need to be in the "mods" folder inside the elden ring folder. Otherwise, on launch, the game will tell you that the .ini file couldn't be accessed, or something to that effect. Also worth noting is that you should not see a message saying "inappropriate activity detected" when entering the game; if you do, the seamless co-op mod is not working correctly. Hope this helps!
Did something change? Are you absolutely not allowed to put the mod engine folder in the elden ring folder? "sucks to suck" isn't really the best tip for the game giving me "inappropriate activity detected" instead of the confirmation that seamless is working.
One of the mods suggests installing "toggle anti cheat," this changed dinput8.dll to _dinput8.dll. I fixed it by turning it off and on... god I hate how often that's the solution.
*How to fix the "seemlesscoop/locale no fallback" error* In the new Co-op update there's an additional folder called locale. Drag that new folder into the SeamlessCoop folder in the Game directory and it should work

Okay so what I love about the Co-Op mod is that it creates an entirely new game launcher to prevent the vanilla saves from getting mixed up. However after following your steps to set up the randomizer, I noticed you dragged the Seamless coop dll into the mods folder. For me doing this makes the game ALWAYS launch in Co-Op mode where as before the game would launch normally through Steam, then If I wanted to do Co-Op I had to use the new launcher. Is that step mandatory? Because I kinda like it the way it was before where I just kept the coop dll in the SeamlessCoop folder.
I'm not positive but theoretically it's probably possible to get it to launch without it in the mods folder. I don't really know how though. I think it would be best to ask someone in the seamless co-op or the randomizer discord :)
@@itsSpicyGaming Yeah it launches fine without it being in the mods folder, I just have to click the exe manually instead of running the game through Steam. I'll probably keep it that way unless it causes issues down the line.

tried this today and it mostly worked, had to move one of the seamless co-op files but otherwise that was fine. my buddy and i have a good amount of enemies synced up but some of them are different. like the camp north of lake agheel is the same, but the dragon and all the enemies in the lake are default for him. i'm hosting and we shared the files just as in this video. any help would be appreciated!

Did you try right clicking it and running as admin? Sometimes that can fix it. If you're not an admin on your computer you'd have to get help from whoever is. Good luck getting it working!
Do you know if that's possible with DS3? Not even necessarily with seamless co-op (or whatever the DS3 equivelant), just any way to co-op the randomizer? Even if we have to vanilla summon each other in each area.

It's Very well explained and easy to understand but makes it complicated when he has it fully done. Also currently missing a set in new patches of these mods and doesnt explain what to do with regulation.bin . game wont trigger randomizer because it doesnt explain where to find the file "select other mod" to enter into the randomizer to make the seed. Personally would really prefer to do the video from scratch without having it downloaded.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get this working in COOP with a Friend (i have done and test this) but also have another mod engine to play a solo run on a different seed? I want to play my own randomized playthrough and also have my COOP one I can switch to when my friend is wanting to play coop with me but with a different seed.

This might be a long shot here but - does anyone know how to separate the two randomized item/enemy seeds? As in so I have me and my friend's co-op playthrough seed and have my own solo seed. With this setup it seems ModEngine launches the Seamless Co-op mod regardless, as I used the previously for my solo randomized save. Is there a way to launch modenegine with a different seed and without seamless co-op, while still saving the previous seed in the co-op option?
It might be possible if you had another copy of mod engine and the randomizer somewhere on your PC that way the randomizer settings are in that folder but I haven't tried it so I'm not to sure.. let me know how it goes!

It was a while ago, so this might not work with the current version of the game/randomizer but I managed to have Steam launch my own randomizer, while the seamless co-op exe launch the co-op one. No clue exactly how, could be that the game with my solo rando was on a different disc drive to my co-op one, but I only managed to do it twice, so not very reliable it seems.

I want to randomize it again to different stuff. Do I need to set game path again or can I simply go into randomizer change the settings I want and click on randomize items and enemies button again then be good to play with a new randomization? Also should I delete old game save too?

I'd say make sure the config in the mod engine folder is set to "randomizer" and is saved. If you renamed the "randomizer" folder you will need to change it to say whatever it is called. Also make sure you are launching the .bat file from mod engine and not one of the ones from the Elden Ring Game folder. Let me know if that helps, or join the discord for help from a bunch of people who worked on the randomizer!
@@gooberlover99 might be a dumb question but is your randomizer file path set to the default eldenring.exe? Besides that I'm not too sure what could be causing this problem. Make sure the randomizer file is in the Mod Engine 2.0.0 folder and not the folder inside of it called "mod" or "modengine2"
I hate how not all mods work the same way. Like convergence and randomizer were simple. Just download it works. Reforged specifically needed to be in the Elden Ring files. Because it uses your actual Game to work, okay fine whatever. Then i went for sekiro randomizer, and my god it was annoying to set up. Put this specific file here, put the other files here, go into this and change the file name to this. Like what the hell? Why do i have to change the name of the file you gave me to make it work? Why didn't it come with the correct name. But after all that, could not locate files... So first it tells me to rename my files to this specific name, then it can't locate them. So go back to the configurator change the configurator to the original name of the files location, and change the folder to the original name it came with which was not the name the configurator says to name it. And boom it works. Like why? How hard was it to just type in the correct name of the folder, and not tell me to rename the folder to something that doesn't work. In reality it took me like 30 minutes to get it to work. But it was like a 10 second thing. Just rename the file location in the configurator, but like you follow the instructions, and the instructions are wrong.
The randomizer tab says “Error: Can't find required metadata files. For the randomizer to work, you must unpack it to disk and keep all of the files together.”
Hey I was wondering if you might have an idea as to what's going on. Me and my friend can start the seamless co-op mod and randomizer mod together no problem, but as soon as we get ported to the Roundtable Hold and we travel back to Limgrave, he gets kicked from my game and we are unable to reconnect even after restarting both of our games. The weird thing is, we are able to connect when using the co-op mod without the randomizer. So the randomizer mod is causing the problem, but only after Roundtable hold for some reason.
Could anyone tell me why all my ashes of war are the lion's claw one? The randomizer works fine but even with bare fists the ash of war is lion's claw.
It's refusing to use randomizer folder as a path for some reason. I changed the config to randomizer, but it still uses the Game folder as a path to start the game. I am using the "launchmod_eldenring" to start the game.
Ok I did everything right but when I click on the launchmod_eldenring, it loads then it crashes and goes back to my desktop. And I just noticed that it doesn’t say launchmod_eldenring.bat, how come that didn’t show up?
ive got a question that i never see and after probalby 100 videos i have never seen answered, for when you send the randomizer and mod engine to your friend. how should it look when they recieve it? because everytime i have tried this it just ends up sending a blank randomizer. its not the same seed, and nothing is filled out. Every single person that makes a video says you need to do this to avoid desinc, and not a single person actially shows them doing it or what it looks like. i have tried to just run it as is and it wont work, we have copied the seed but like you and everyone says, it might work for 2 hours or maybe for 20, but eventually desinc always happens. would really appreciate the help, because at this point after 6 months i just dont get it, and nobody has ever had an answer.
What exactly does the multiplayer mod do? Will my friend always stay on my world even though we have defeated a boss, or is it just something for the other mods, to make them work? My friend and I really want to play together without getting interrupted by gathering items to play co-op.

If you don't plan on playing with people you can skip it. Just download the randomizer like normal and you should be good

the launchmod_eldenring file in mod engine 2 wont load up
i did everything step by step but for some reason the items are randomized but not enemies. Both items and enemies are checked.
does this change anything to your game files for if i still want to do my new game plus?
great turtorial thx! the randomizer keeps giving me common language runtime detected an invalid program, when I make a new seed. Should I just ignore this and start the game? :)

I have a question, after playing my first time with a randomized play through.
I want to randomize it again to different stuff. Do I need to set game path again or can I simply go into randomizer change the settings I want and click on randomize items and enemies button again then be good to play with a new randomization?
Also should I delete old game save too?
hey this tutorial is awesome but when i lauch the .bat it lauches the seamless co-op but not randomizer do you have a fix or something i might have missed
I'd say make sure the config in the mod engine folder is set to "randomizer" and is saved. If you renamed the "randomizer" folder you will need to change it to say whatever it is called. Also make sure you are launching the .bat file from mod engine and not one of the ones from the Elden Ring Game folder. Let me know if that helps, or join the discord for help from a bunch of people who worked on the randomizer!
@@itsSpicyGaming i didnt remanme it but i looked at the log in the modengine and it said unable to resolve mod path
@@gooberlover99 might be a dumb question but is your randomizer file path set to the default eldenring.exe? Besides that I'm not too sure what could be causing this problem. Make sure the randomizer file is in the Mod Engine 2.0.0 folder and not the folder inside of it called "mod" or "modengine2"

I played this before the latest patch with my friend. Will this new patch destroy our savefile?
after i upload my files to google drive all the settings in the randomizer have gone back to standard, this used to work for me, but doesn't anymore
How do I get the enemy randomizer settings to work without the item randomizations?
I hate how not all mods work the same way. Like convergence and randomizer were simple. Just download it works. Reforged specifically needed to be in the Elden Ring files. Because it uses your actual Game to work, okay fine whatever. Then i went for sekiro randomizer, and my god it was annoying to set up. Put this specific file here, put the other files here, go into this and change the file name to this. Like what the hell? Why do i have to change the name of the file you gave me to make it work? Why didn't it come with the correct name.
But after all that, could not locate files...
So first it tells me to rename my files to this specific name, then it can't locate them. So go back to the configurator change the configurator to the original name of the files location, and change the folder to the original name it came with which was not the name the configurator says to name it. And boom it works. Like why? How hard was it to just type in the correct name of the folder, and not tell me to rename the folder to something that doesn't work.
In reality it took me like 30 minutes to get it to work. But it was like a 10 second thing. Just rename the file location in the configurator, but like you follow the instructions, and the instructions are wrong.
The randomizer tab says “Error: Can't find required metadata files.
For the randomizer to work, you must unpack it to disk and keep all of the files together.”
Does this process also work with Seamless Co op & Movement Modsets?
Hey I was wondering if you might have an idea as to what's going on.
Me and my friend can start the seamless co-op mod and randomizer mod together no problem, but as soon as we get ported to the Roundtable Hold and we travel back to Limgrave, he gets kicked from my game and we are unable to reconnect even after restarting both of our games.
The weird thing is, we are able to connect when using the co-op mod without the randomizer. So the randomizer mod is causing the problem, but only after Roundtable hold for some reason.
so everything works perfectly for me OTHER than the randomizer, for some reason no matter what I do the randomizer will not work with seemless co-op
did too ever figure this out?
what happens if i wanna go back online? will i be able to use the randomised character, or do i need to restart with a new one?
Could anyone tell me why all my ashes of war are the lion's claw one? The randomizer works fine but even with bare fists the ash of war is lion's claw.
It's refusing to use randomizer folder as a path for some reason. I changed the config to randomizer, but it still uses the Game folder as a path to start the game.
I am using the "launchmod_eldenring" to start the game.
do i just verify game files to play normally?
Ok I did everything right but when I click on the launchmod_eldenring, it loads then it crashes and goes back to my desktop. And I just noticed that it doesn’t say launchmod_eldenring.bat, how come that didn’t show up?
ive got a question that i never see and after probalby 100 videos i have never seen answered, for when you send the randomizer and mod engine to your friend. how should it look when they recieve it? because everytime i have tried this it just ends up sending a blank randomizer. its not the same seed, and nothing is filled out. Every single person that makes a video says you need to do this to avoid desinc, and not a single person actially shows them doing it or what it looks like. i have tried to just run it as is and it wont work, we have copied the seed but like you and everyone says, it might work for 2 hours or maybe for 20, but eventually desinc always happens. would really appreciate the help, because at this point after 6 months i just dont get it, and nobody has ever had an answer.
What exactly does the multiplayer mod do? Will my friend always stay on my world even though we have defeated a boss, or is it just something for the other mods, to make them work? My friend and I really want to play together without getting interrupted by gathering items to play co-op.
