    For those of us (okay maybe just me) that have to go thru your other wise great instructions 10 times to get it through my thick head --sticky-outie- can be more than just frustrating. The bead that protrudes, projects, bulges out, cantilevers, or stands out would be fine. Before everyone pounces on me I would like this and all Ms Wiseman's videos to reach a bigger, larger, grandiose, massive audience. Thank you.

    Jill, your instruction is faultless and your projects are beautiful. Thank you so much for helping me to be a more creative beader! I have one question, or perhaps a request; Can you do a tutorial on using single-holed dagger beads? There are beautiful beads available, but the projects I've seen are quite ordinary. I'd love to see your take on this bead style!!

  • @GingerRatsep

    WhooHoo! Love this stitch. I didn't have delica beads so tackled this with 11/o. Doing the first pass to set up the 2/1 ladder was a pain, but I decided to just load the beads on then adjust them into the correct positions. It work really well and I was rocking the peyote stitch in no time. I loaded 12 beads on the thread then build out 12 wide before I did the "taco". The process goes really fast and it makes a nice, tight bead. Can't wait to make a bracelet out of my peyote beads. Thanks Jill.

    I am soo glad I found you! It's so easy to learn from you. After watching one recent vid yesterday, I came back and went to the oldest. I am so excited. I'm getting a tiny bit older ;) so it's harder to see. My dumb arse maybe stubborn too, uses a lot of size 11 beads. I have found in some cases, they don't look as nice as the ones you are using in this project, for example. I have some that size and I think for a while until I'm comfortable with more stitches, I'll use the bigger ones. Can you explain the differences and why you would use size 11 for example on a project and use size 6, for example on a project. In other words, are there certain projects that a small bead just doesn't look right and vice versa with the bigger ones.? Thank you for your videos. They are hard work and I really appreciate them.

I have really enjoyed watching your videos. I love how you show and explain everything. I do have a question...being that I am new at all of this, I am not quite sure what thread you are using. Is it a special kind of thread? Or is it sewing thread? Thank you for making your videos!!!

      @JillWisemanDesigns  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lisa-
      Thanks for asking! Your question actually prompted me to film some segments on beadweaving tools and materials last week - so thanks!
      In general, I like to use Fireline, 6lb size for my beadweaving. But any other beading thread like Nymo, S-Lon, OneG, etc. in the D size works well too.

    Hello Jill, I know this is a older video, so I don't know if you will be able to get my questions. First I wanted to tell you that I like the way you taught the tube bead, which is what I want to make. But was wondering if it would be possible to make it using 6 lb monofilament instead of fireline thread ( as it's too expensive for me at this time)? How would you go about making the tube beads into different sizes (lengths, etc)? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I will certainly appreciate it. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas

    I understand how to do this but when I do it it becomes like tilted so when i close it, it has a spiral look to it. It works, it doesn't look that bad but it frustrates me that I cant get it straight like yours. Maybe it has to do with the thread I use. What kind of thread are you using? I can't find a video where you tell that.

      Christine, I was having a problem starting peyote because the beads would flip out all over the place and I just couldn't hold on to them with my left hand. I bought a set of "Quick Start Peyote" cards and that helped me A LOT!

    • @Raina6465
      @Raina6465 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear MetalGrannie - I've seen those cards and even made one for myself. As you say, it worked. But I see people use peyote everywhere, and I think I need to be able to do it, too. BREAK THROUGH: I can make it with large beads or with the square ones, but still can't master the 11/0 seedbeads. Thank you so much for your answer. We are definitely on the same wave length. I'm glad to know I'm not alone.

  • @Fannitomo
    @Fannitomo 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi! I found this video very useful, I got impressed by the nice result. I have a question: Do you think it is practical that I make a long flat peyote piece to work it together (like in the video) and get a tubular necklace? or is there another way to make a tubular necklace? I'm wondering about it because I want to do an African design which I was not able to do it (and maintain the drawing) while working in the regular tubular method. Thanks and best regards.

    • @JillWisemanDesigns
      @JillWisemanDesigns  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fannitomo No, I'm afraid that won't work for a necklace or bracelet because peyote done flat and then zipped up is too stiff - it will only be a long straight piece. Instead you could use tubular herringbone to follow a pattern.

    Hi Jill, I love your designs and have tried several times to make some of your projects, however, I am not the most experienced. I think you need to be a little more specific as to what size beads you're using and also how to start and finish a project. Some how I feel you start your projects a little ahead of the actual beginning. Again I do love your projects but can not finish them accordingly. Thank you for your tutorials,

      There is almost always a free PDF download with written details on the seed bead sizes, etc. The free PDF links are in the description field. You can find them at: jillwisemandesigns.com/patterns/ And if I've started "in the middle of something" it's only because I've already made a video on the first part, and there is a link to that video within the current video.

      My best tips are: good lighting, good magnification. But also, make sure you're using the largest size needle you can. I almost never use size 12s any more - I switched to size 11 needles for most things a few years ago and can thread those much more easily.
