I grew up in the house my parents built, brick by brick-back in the 50’s. My mom was pregnant with me while working on much of it. So proud of their accomplishments and couldn’t wait to tell others how they built it themselves. It was built with love, sweat, and a few tears, but they put money in their pockets by not having a mortgage. We grew up with land around us to play and create our own structures. I was blessed to be with them both as they departed this life in their elderly years in the very home they built for their family. Love what you both are building together and sharing it with all of us!

My wife and I love your videos. We are retired now but for years we have raised a garden and canned what we needed. This year we are trying to preserve eggs with lime water in a jar. These are fresh from the chicken and unwashed. The hens have a natural “bloom” that coats the egg when it’s laid. Other have reported having fresh eggs up to 2 years with this method. Well, babies are a blessing and we wish you success in your endeavors. PL

Watching your channel brings back memories! When I was 4 we lived in an off-grid log cabin my parents built in Maine. We took our baths in the nearby stream. We didn't have solar back then but used kerosene lanterns and had an outhouse. Lots of cutting wood for the fire and lugging water! It's making me want to go back to a simpler life style.
You are a motivation for us, we have been watching since episode 1 and it has been 1 year since we decided to buy a piece of land in a rain forest too, we could not be happier, we have to thank you two Jake and Nicole , I think you serve as an inspiration for many. Thank you.
I don't even have the money for the nails for a project right now lol. I want to make patio furniture for our deck but resources are slim right now. But we had a good Christmas. We just moved in to a 3 bedroom house and we love it! It was one of my Christmas presents to not only myself but to the boys too. And of course I got them presents for Christmas but it broke me and I am now in debt to the bank. It is what it is and we are certainly blessed. Not as blessed as the 2 of you are with your wonderful homestead and the baby on the way but hey, we have a roof over our heads, we are "healthy" and we have each other. God bless you guys 🥰🙏

Same! I agree. The famale body is built to work, and labour. Im a runner and ran (eventually cut to shorter distances) up unitl both my kids were born. Spontaneous labors w no drugs during contractions. And I was an "older' mom. So theres a lot to be said for staying active if you already were when you got pregnant. Just to be clear, Im not recommending "starting" a new workout program or anything silly, just in case ppl want to troll lol

I love rainbows. I was driving east on hiway 22 in Alabama. There were 3 rainbows ahead and I drove through all of them. The rainbow was shining over and around the car but they were shining in on me. It was great seeing the colors on my lap.

Congratulations 🧸💕 I have 5 children 2 boys 3girls we raised on an 85 acre organic farm in Maine U.S. We grew all our food, had chickens, pigs, & goats. We heated with wood & had a kitchen wood cook stove. I chopped wood through out my pregnancies & 2 days after birth. They are grown with their own families now... Best wishes ❣

I started a yurt manufacturing co off grid in Nome Alaska in the nineties, sewed the yurts in the kitchen at the out set! We raised three boys doing seasonal rounds off grid… until they hit high school age and needed more art and community. I just want to say that you guys give me Hope! I love what you do and that you put it out there . You are both so incredibly strong and creative. You are right to be free you have to get free! Yurts help!
