this phone is bad, i had to replace it once already after 2 months because it constantly refused to make calls. Now the screen won't turn on even though the phone is on and I can see the backlight. Trying both power + up/down doesn't work the screen still stays blank but the backlight is on. Never buying a nokia again. They aren't the nokias built like tanks from the 90's anymore.
Just got mine a couple days ago. I haven't even found on the intetnet yet why my x100 reboots twice, upon every reboot. The first time it loads everything, even allows me enough time to click a thing or two, then goes to shut down /restart once again. It does it every time, without fail!
If you have any of your apps that you have turned off for auto update(Enabled Auto Update) it will turn it back on. Something that Android(Google) has had it made that way so when the app changes to a paid app, you will have to pay for what you used to get for free.

I got the same problem I forgot my password so what happened is the phone was issued Without the hard reset software so what you got to do is mail it into Nokia and they will do a software update and send it back to you factory reset but it's because the phone was issued / put in the box before it had that software it has since been fixed but all phones prior to the update have to mail their phones in now they told me that all phones that don't have the software were issued a software update so supposedly you can update the phone and wouldn't have that problem anymore but obviously to do that you have to be able to get into the phone so if you're like us and your phone is already locked you have to mail it in
Ok, so once in that menu by holding power down and volume down, if you notice the screen says fastboot. While on that screen you can use android sdk to do fastboot reboot recovery, and it will go to recovery. Unfortunately there's no factory reset option...

Sucks the phone is like that. Seems more like Nokias fault rather than metro or any carriers fault. Suggest doing extensive research on something rather than jumping the gun when you see it’s cheap and a great deal. Great informative video though. Definitely will steer clear from Nokia.

My Nokia 100x that I got from Metro by T-Mobile is a piece of junk and it's been that way since the day I bought it. It turns off by itself, you make a call and you can't hear the ringing and then have to hang up and try again and that's when a notification pops up saying service not available and it disconnects. I can call my next door neighbor and the same thing happens. I could go on. I've talked to other people and they're having the same issues.
The only way is through find my phone Google app. So if you're locked out like me. You are kinda screwed. Nokia said that I have to send it to them for repair
So for those who still haveing trouble with this nokia x100 what you do depending on ur carrier pop in different Sims and restart phone and eventually it'll try to switch over carrier software and u will get a message saying u must first factory reset phone giving u only option to reset or restart and super simple problem solved please let me know on ur personal results hope it helps
Oh and on some carriers it's as simple as removing Sim card and reboot if u didn't already have a Sim inserted insert 1 reboot them remove and reboot again if still no messege to recovery insert another carrier Sim and reboot if u absolutely can't find Sim go buy a 5 dollar one from best buy u don't need it to even be active 😉
ok i got my phone to work by installing another reset motherboard but it still will not get past what you are showing. the only way to get into anything close to a reset is the press the power and vol dn buttons and you still get this page. and my phone is working for everything but it will not show photos in the file explorer so i tried to do a complete hard reset to clear out everything on the phone and start fresh and i had to go ito the phone settings in the developer setting and then reset and i got the exact same issues. the phone gets calls does games but will not show photos in the file explorer. this is the only phone i have had that does this. and there is no help anywhere online for this phone. good luck every one if you find a fix let me know
It just happened to my phone. I wrote it off as malware. So all I did when I got to that boot screen was hold my power button down. Then I held it down again. I didn't trust what was happening, seemed sus so I didn't click the options.
I'm using my stepdad phone I got him this phone January 1st 2023 he didn't like it so he wiped it out and I took the phone however I set a pin can't remember and he can't remember how to reset to factory
So I reached out to Nokia via chat and they advised me that the work around for this issue is to go in through a computer and log into your Google account. Once logged in go to Find my phone option and remove the pin/password/or pattern.
I've been trying to do a hard reset on my phone. I bought from it 48 hrs either I figure it or I have to use my insurance. I've been to multiple wireless stores even connecting this phone to a PC it cannot be hard reset from everything that I've seen so far. I've spoken with MetroPCS on the phone I have dealt with Nokia text support chat that was a disaster and nightmare. You can't even find a listing on the anti-theft software which is where I think this plays into fact and why it can't be hard rebooted. On the Nokia site it says that you can have it reset for fee but I have yet to find a human being who can reset this phone. 🤞🤞🤞🤞 Hoping you figure it out.

@@gr86er this phone is still wack, worst phone I've ever purchased, I'm 30 and been with metro since my teen years. it makes a really annoying sound when ur on the phone and you can't hear what the other person says, even does it sometimes when my battery is at 52%, then it's doing this thing where when I'm on a call and someone beeps in the person I'm on the phone with hears a ringing noise and it interrupts phone calls, ending the phone call. or when i click over and then back to my original phone call they can't hear me and I can't hear them, then we gotta hang up and call back... which is very irritating, I've checked all my settings and i have no idea why it's doing this

I hate Tmobile and this crappy Nokia X100 piece of junk. My friends phone is unable to make voice calls and Tmobile tech "support" is a joke. None of the resets have fixed the issue and my friend isn't able to understand all the technical details in order to trouble shoot her phone when she is out.
Actually guys u don't need to messege me it's very very simple get urself a sim card for a carrier different from what the phone is for example u got a att phone throw a TMobile sim card in there and it will tell u u gotta reset in order to switch over services and problem solved.

As long as your phone is connected to an email address you can go to find my device and erase it from there That's what I was able to do Unfortunately I erased the wrong phone because I have two of the same phone
I had the same problem. Phone was frozen on boot load screen. The only options I had was start, restart bootloader, and power off. So what I did was change the SIM card or take the current one out. Waited until the phone completely died. Connect it to a charger and while the phone is still turned off hold the volume up and power button. I was able to do a hard reset this way. Let me know if this works for anyone :)

device state locked is for bootloader locked not netlock
You have to remove the lockscreen/pattern first. Or else it wont let you if you have one on

You can reset this phone in the about phone settings super easy
