    I like to turn plastic laundry baskets into hanging cages. Adding the baking soda will really help sell the illusion. Thanks for the tip.

    I needed to do a large surface with a texture (a replica of the Star Trek II warp core) and used a mix of PVA and builders sand, works like a charm and cheap as chips! With a coat of matt paint over the top the effect was pretty much perfect. Just another way to make something out of nothing... oh, hang on that's not here is it!! :) Thanks for the vids!

    this is another great looking texture effect!
    Would your Graphite Powder dissolved in shellac-method work out on a tiny piece like this Lock or would the heavier texture destroy the Effect?

    • @VanOaksProps
      @VanOaksProps  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would definitely work. This was more of a alternate method if graphite powder was too expensive.

    • @Craftlngo
      @Craftlngo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VanOaksProps a british guitar luthier and youtuber used a similar effect to create a unique finish for one of his guitar builds. He used a shielding paint (a paint with high amount of dissolved graphite powder, that is sold by his own company) for this task.
      But I guess the paint is to expensive if you have to buy it...
