You spend a lot of time addressing the haters; don't worry about them! "Someone will inevitably find something wrong in everything you do, so do what it is you do and have enough perseverance for two." -Brandon Boyd
What I love about Kaitlyn is her honesty. So many others don't show the misses, and she humbly showed hers. Don't worry, I shot over my first one as well. Her hunt is a genuine actual antelope hunt and captures it so well! Those who have never antelope hunted, she made a great shot, notice the deep breath as well, important when making those long range shots. It isn't as easy at it looks!
From an old retired pro hunter in South Africa, the first shot was a miss! Don't worry about the buck he is fine. A wounded buck will generally leave the herd. On the second buck... very well done! You done it all perfect. Congratulations! !
I'm impressed with your character. The fact that you thanked God for His blessing is a wonderful thing. I have two daughters and I know how much these things mean to a father... including our heavenly Father. Take care, Miles
Congratulations, great shot! I watched your video when you sighted in that gun. It looked like it was dialed in. I always put lock-tight on my screws when I put my scope on so the screws do not move. Heavy recoiling rifles seem to eventually back the screws out if you do not use some sort of lock-tight product on them. Great hunt!
It was so exciting to watch your hunt. It brought back great memories of my first spot-n-stalk Pronghorn in Wyoming in 2014 on the Mankin Ranch. You're such a joy to watch. God bless and congratulations. I'm a fan and follower now.
Very early in my shooting/hunting days I bought a new .300 Win Mag and had the gun shop mount the scope. At the range I just couldn't get the thing to shoot. Groups were huge (five to six inches) at 100 yards. I was a decent shot at the time and realized it likely was the rifle or the scope. Back home I took the scope off and found one of the bases was loose. The gun shop owner had messed up. I tightened everything up and the rifle turned out to be a tack driver. Don't feel too bad about that loose scope. I saw your video where you were at the range preparing for this hunt with that gun. Your shooting was fine so there was no reason to suspect a loose scope. Personally, I don't recall ever checking scope screws before a hunt. When I mount a scope, I use Gun-Tite, snug the screws down firmly and just expect them to hold. One of these days I may find one has worked loose. But in 35 years it hasn't happened yet.
I love the excitement you and your friend showed when he dropped I couldn't believe that you drilled the first one because he probably would have dropped also and he ran pretty far congrats!!!
Nice shot! I dont know if you've ever ate antelope before but that one is gonna taste so good, tender!! My tag starts Oct. 9th, i cannot wait. Congrats and enjoy!
that looks like a lot of fun. great looking antelope. one thing to point out if you ever try to go after them again is to sight in your rifle while in a seated postion with your taller bipod. i noticed with most of my rifles i shoot a little higher and a touch to the right while seated and it gets worse while going up the chain of caliber up until my 300 win mag. out at 300 yards i am about 5 inches high and an inch to the right while seated then if i am shooting solid off a bench. so might be something to try and see if that could of been th reason for that first miss.
Congratulations Kaitlyn, nice buck... I had to laugh at the fence post being right in your line of fire and all that went on with getting him. I missed a nice 8 pt buck in Montana and it turned out to be the scope, so you never know until you have proven the equipment. Keep going and don't worry about haters, they are not your audience, we are.
What an awesome hunt! And such an entertaining video. I was hooked from the start. I only hope I have the chance to hunt like that somwtime in my life. Congrats on an awesome hunt! Can't wait to see more.
Absolutely agree with Apex Predator Outdoors, Ya’ll do ya’ll as we would say in Alabama lol. Seriously though great hunt and footage, by far better than that weirdo Chris Bee lol so glad he’s not around. Like to see two beautiful bestie’s enjoying the outdoors. Keep up the hard work. Can’t wait to see what the season has in store for ya!
Don't feel bad I thought of checking my scope last minute, and it cost me the first 2 days of my hunt because of it. Hope I'll still get lucky 🙏 Congratulations on your 1st antelope!
Adrenaline dump came before the shot I think! There are some breathing techniques to calm yourself down, I'm sure Uncle Sniper could help you learn some tricks. That was an exciting hunt! Congrats on your first antelope! There's no time like the first time!
