I keep seeing crying about power. I’m 40. Just bought a 2025 Avenir to drive to work and errands (also own a motorcycle) I literally said in the dealership “who buys a Buick to race” jokingly. The turbo makes its a swift ride and has get up and go. Cars comfortable, practical, and damn nice
They don't comprehend the meaning of budget cars and why it is. If they want AWD and bigger engine, it would be just as expensive as other cars people struggle to afford. It's probably the same people who buy a pickup for their wife to drive to work and run errands instead of hauling things. They drive pickups like racecars tailgating you when you're going 75mph, and drive really slow in mustangs. Don't mind them. Every vehicle has a particular purpose. My Envista is point a to b and that's it.
Good one! I love the look of this car, but I am turned off by the lack of power. I did go to try to test drive one though and dealers actually can’t keep them in stock so they’re flying off of the lots because of the price. The dealer I spoke to said that even though it only makes 137 hp since it’s turbo charged it feels faster. I said I’ll have to take your word for it as my current car has 200 horses and I can’t see myself downgrading just for looks.
@@treads2595 What a BS! B/c it's turbo it feels faster? Just opposite - b/c it's turbo it will last much shorter (high cylinder pressure). Don't buy. What a crazy idea from GM - 3 cyl. engine? Back to Chevy Swift era.
For sure! The Buick Envista has a really stylish design, and it’s got some cool tech features too, like a touchscreen display and advanced safety options.
Considering I’ve seen many TikTok’s of people getting this as their first car, this is pretty good. Not too many new vehicles in today’s market that start under 25 grand. You do get a lot for the price. If I could change one thing, it would be the taillights. Not because they’re halogen but because they’re in a a bad spot. I do fear the engine may have troubles though. A turbo on a 1.2L 3 cylinder sounds kinda of worrying. But it doe sound good, better than most 4 cylinder options.
The engine has gasoline direct injection, which is infamous for problematic carbon buildup. It also uses a wet timing belt, which is infamous for shredding debris over time into the engine oil causing problems. It's also an extra (and expensive) point of maintenance to have the belt changed.

This would definitely be on my buy list but for 2 negatives, only front wheel drive (I live in the Midwest), I can even get past that but my #1 concern is that 3cyl turbocharged lawn mower engine. I question turbocharging that little engine, I’m concerned about the longevity of that engine, will it see 100K miles??? So if I did plan on putting this car in my driveway I WOULD lease it, after 3 years just turn it in, very nice looking vehicle, good job Buick
This is the MAJOR concern. Longevity of this engine is ? 60k -80k miles (my prediction). Don't buy. Look at other crossover options like Toyota Corolla Cross or Honda HR-V. Some of these automakers are getting TOO stupid and brainwashed by the liberals and the government. Its doo much now. It needs a bigger engine. This is too small and too underpowered. The New 3.0 hurricane in stalantis is below the old Semi v8 on highway Mileage. GM dropped a 4 cyl turbo in the new Acadia and the combined is equal to the outgoing V6 and the highway is actually 2 miles LESS then the outgoing V6. My Audi Q7 highway also dropped from the outgoing Supercharged vs the turbo 3.0v6 now. They are getting groomed and crewed over by the government and nobody is stepping up to stop it

That was a Buick. This is not a Buick. It's some kind of scaled down lawnmower with a Briggs and Stratton gocart motor.
The Watts Link is not just available on the Avenir trim. You can also get it on the ST with the Experience Buick Package. Hopefully the dealer didn't tell you that.
Bought a 2025 Aquamarine Blue ST. It was 27k, then almost 36k after CA gas taxes, etc. I even had some dealer markups knocked off. Would have been over 40k.
Great looking vehicle. Design is stellar. Make it an EV or a hybrid and it would be a real contender. Kinda weird Buick isn’t making hybrids or EVs with these
Thought: Envista GNX. A 3-cyl DI turbo with a wet belt is a no-go for me. Otherwise, I like these, a lot. Put in a more proven engine with enough smiles, keep the price reasonable and this could be a real hoot.
It's sexy and the price is great, but here are some important points to consider before purchasing: 1) It's made by GM Korea/Daewoo who has a poor track record for reliability. The Envista is no exception after 1 year on the market. Common issues include exterior trim falling off, AC failure, digital screen glitches or complete failure, electrical problems, and engine failure. 2) The engine has GDI, a turbo, and a wet timing belt. GDI is infamous for carbon buildup. Turbos are expensive to replace when they fail and they are known to fail in GM Korea vehicles. A wet timing belt adds an expensive point of maintenance later in its life. Other engines with a wet timing belt are infamous for crumbling belt debris into the engine oil as the belt ages, causing internal engine problems. This is probably a good value to lease, but long-term ownership is risky.
The one from last year was an unofficial reading that we took in Michigan at the press drive. Not that we have a KY official rating, the old rating will be purged from the system

It looks nice, but 28-29k for a FWD only subcompact car based crossover is a little crazy. You’re getting into crosstrek/kona/seltos/hrv/cx30 territory and those are much more substantial cars. This is best bought as a lower trim, or even a Chevy Trax which is the same car and probably more practical.

I would love to buy from General Motors, but the reliability on a tiny stressed 3 cylinder engine is what worries me. I doubt if it reaches 200,000 miles. Honda and Toyota will forever have my money but these other car manufacturers are killing the game 🔥 !!
I drive faster than 55 mph maybe once a month, so im a bit confused why i should care about horsepower and a powerful engine? Unless i get on the highway the speed limit everywhere i go is 40/45/50 MPH. I guess i just never understood why people want fast cars when you cant take any advantage of it without risk of a massive ticket from the cops.
The only three knocks I have against it is the engine, the rear not being full LED ( Preference) & the HUD not being fully utilized. Could easily slap two 12" screens with the size of that thing lol. The engine is the only real thing that would keep be from buying it however. I do not trust that thing at all.
