- Today we continue our Thailand Island Weekend. We go shopping for supplies and I go off on my own to explore the Island. I find that my favorite beach on the Island is now decimated mainly due to the rainy season. We manage to enjoy a beautiful evening at our resort and a good time is had by the four members of our group. Enjoy the Ride!

Enjoyed the English lesson, gave me a giggle how they was pronouncing Fish. I dare say I have missed some episodes, I tend to binge watch certain Vlogs, video's I like to call them. Old school lol. Great video yet again. I go on the beach and pick up plastic when I am metal detecting for old coins and jewelry. Been fairly successful in the past.❤️✌️👊👍

Wow, I couldn't be believe it neither about that beach. I was there around Aug-2019 and it was so beautiful. It's so sad and hopefully things will get better soon as the country is opening up to more tourists... Yes, that Island is very special to me. Thank you for taking us back there...

Wow I remember that beach well my partner and I visited there in April 2019
After every coastal monsoon rain and wind storms the wood, plastic, and rubber trash comes floating back in with the sea surf !
Worldwide this happens all over ! Thai's and locals do come out for a beach cleaning trash day ! There are massively large floating islands of trash stuck in the sea currents out there ! We should all try to recycle more and recyclers should perform their shredding and conversions for reuse better !
This happens to our beaches in South Florida. Storms pull all the sand back out into the ocean, then they spend a fortune to pump sand back to the beach.

English class: you should have a schedule with Vee, where maybe one day is an all English day and one day is an all Thai day, or something similar. That way she would get the conversational training in English and you would also get more Thai involved speech as well. Just a thought....

basic rules for Thai English , no consonant at end of syllable ,preferably one syllable for the word , no 2 consonants together and do not start a word with an 'R' . So strawberry ,which is also Thai becomes "satallbelly"

It's a beautiful island, I was there a few years ago and must head back again. Thanks for the reminder brought back memories. Had an amazing excellent meal on that beach which has now disappeared!

Honda Zoomer isn't much different to wave, click etc. It's just not so much plastic bodywork. People think its a smaller bike, but basically the same engine, frame, suspension etc without all the (hollow) plastic trim.
A couple of my favorite Thai girl translations:

I agree with you. In comparison that beach looked nothing like the beach from before. Looks like the road that came down to the beach became a river & washed it away. Just like the area in Pattaya need the pump house. All washed away. Food looked great. ( Saying you didn't do anything.....except fork over Baht to the Cashier - that was plenty ) Loved how you were able to get away on your own while they were in the food coma. Take care and waiting for your next vid.
It’s still going to take some time for Thailand to get back to some kind of normality!! Hopefully as soon as possible

haha, very familiar scene with the girls sleeping after food. My Thai girlfriend does exactly the same at home here. I never get used to sleeping in the middle of the day but whatever :) I'll just do my own thing in the meantime.
I just came from Koh Samet. Similar things going on. Sai Kaew beach was empty and Ao Prao covered in garbage from the mainland.
Think ya better do a back up story when the beach is repaired.

Beach situation is the same thing every year. Some other beach on the island is totally gone. But all will be back in December.
Not sure about that with all the redilucious restrictions to enter the country most of potential tourists will prefer more welcoming countries to spend their vacation .

I really like that big back porch area you had to BBQ some delicious food. I am glad uou found that store! I also try to shop local in the mom n pop shops instead of the big chain stores. No matter wehere I am.
Good plan that, the big stores will only get bigger if we keep supporting them.
Have you ever been down to Koh Chang, south of Pattaya? I heard it was a nice island too ....

It's nature. The Thais encroach on the beaches so badly in their quest for revenue, that without regular upkeep, it all just gets washed away as the sea tries to reclaim the "land". They need to stop pushing properties further and further out, and then majority of this erosion wouldn't happen.
@@MrMairu555 it’s not just the Thai’s……anywhere there is a beautiful beach, people have encroached on it, it happens all over the world!
@@mauihowey Of course it happens elsewhere, but it's hugely prevalent in Thailand. I've been here 20 years and seen landscapes and natural resources decimated for greed and profit. As long as you can pay off the right people, no-one gives a damn. Try building up to the shoreline in Florida or around the UK, and then artificially extending the beach... but it's happened all around Thailand. They've even encroached onto inland national parks.
@@MrMairu555 agreed! I went to the phi phi islands 30 years ago and there were so few people there, back again in 2016 and so many boats and people that you could not move….

Re the "eroded beach" - Its a bit difficult to tell from the vid, but is that not a small retaining wall they have built right on the sea and dumped a whole lot of rubble down to build the level up to a horizintal so they can then put the sand back down on top and have a level extended area for the tables and chairs? I didnt think you could claim the beach like this but hey you know how enterprising they can be out there!
Pigs were wandering the streets in groups when I was there. As to spoilt areas, the south end just past the incinerator plant was none too flash.
