In my opinion, UA will be more successful than WS simply because Bandai does a lot of marketing, whereas Bushiroad does very little. In fact, right now stores are preparing for UA, while if you ask about WS, they don't even know what it is. A game based on anime can compete very well with the big 3. Bushiroad had the opportunity to succeed with WS, but for reasons I still don't understand, they didn't, and Bandai will succeed where Bushiroad failed.
I'm not sure if I'm being a negative nancy but Union Arena scares me. I already see stores jumping on it and pushing it. Even ones where Weiss failed. I do feel like it would be a great one for Western collectors unless Bandai ruins it.
Tbf though I think all it means is some collectors might drop of Weiss for a little bit. So it’s nothing to be that concerned about, just playsets might go up a tiny bit temporarily 😊
The problem with Union Arena is its coming out after One Piece which is one of the larger IP for casual anime fans. Bandai has proven that they can barely support the games they have now. In our area, the Dragonball Super game was taken over by Digimon, then Digimon was taken over by One Piece. I dont see Union Arena taking over from One Piece. From Bandai history in CCGs, they have either never been able to overcome their supply issues OR they do it on purpose in order to create demand.
Obviously, i dont have a good opinion on Bandai's CCG department. All the way back to the Nartuo CCG, they just dont seem to understand how to make a CCG last.
Adding to that, so far English Union Arena will only release in USA and Canada.
There will be people importing cards from Europe etc, so there will even be less product available to the American market. ^^
Yeh I’m not sure how the expect to supply it given they can’t even supply one piece. I think the most likely estimation will be it will boom quick and but is unlikely to pass the test of time years down line

yes the serialized cards can be pulled from the packs
TCGs released by Bandai have always got issues with card balancing and over power inflation and I don't think UA will be any different from its processors. The game doesn't seem like as fun as something like battle spirits or digimon as well. I can see it being sold well as a collectable, but I cannot see it as a game that will have a lasting player base due to these reasons and I think it will flop within 5 years.
I do wish UA can make bushi wake up a bit in the WS global market though.

Agreed. Most of weiss schwarz is just magical girl shows that people in the west don't know. Sure weiss has some good shows like attack on titan, seven deadly sins, and even avatar the last airbender but union arena has more ips that are better or more popular.
I'll keep getting weiss when they release good ips (its gonna be a dry summer)... I'm diffently checking out UA. I hope this is a Weiss En wake-up call ⏰️

I'm really excited for Union Arena. I've been playing Weiss since 2020, and releases lately have been geared so heavily toward a very specific market. Chainsaw Man is the only set coming out this year I care about, everything else is just cutesy shows about girls. If you don't like shows about little girls, but are a huge fan of more action/shonen shows, Union Arena is definitely the better option.
I like the simplicity of Union Arena too. I'm not a hard core card player, I've never played Magic or Pokémon competitively, so a more simple and casual game sounds right up my alley. If Bushi doesn't take UA seriously, they may be in for a ride awakening. Stores around me who didn't touch Weiss are getting into UA just for the popularity power of these initial titles.
Yes, it's almost like there is a gap in the market and UA could fill it.
I've heard this a lot, I think its initial english release will be very popular, let's just hope they don't have allocations issues like OP had!
@@PokeMike that's what I'm thinking too. Even with yesterday's product stream, it's more of the same. Glad Re: Zero players are finally getting another set, but other than that it's just more waifu sets 🙄 I worry that if UA does succeed, it will fall into the same market. I know money talks, and if the majority of people want to spend their money on fan service IPs, that's what the company will cater too. I'm hopeful that the success of One Piece will keep UA from turning into another game solely printing Waifu sets.
That's my biggest worry too. I really hope my pre-orders don't get cut 🙏 but all I can do is sit and wait.
@@themeg063 yeh its a good point, I mean UA have already had Nikke which was a lewd waifu set and I think it's the first set they have done to be getting a reprint now....
I think it's nice to have a mixture of both but yeh I guess at the end of the day sales and money talk right. I guess it's good though to see how well AOT is going!

I dont really like the non rare cards, if what i saw was union arena. But depends on pull rates.

In English or Japanese? Do you mean the pen signature cards that are also serialised or just the got stamped signature cards?

@@deanmorris8107 pen signed serialised cards in JP are the chases. They sell for multiple 1000s. SAO, Nikke and blackclover all have them.
im seeing tons of potential with this game. i dont think its gonna blow weiss schwarz out of the water because weiss schwarz is more "collectible" in a sense. ofc theres a game, but bandai puts more emphasis on the game itself and not the art, unlike weiss. but ofc people will still collect it, ive seen one card (specifically black clover) that cost 1,000$

I believe some UA cards have sold for $10,000+ specially the pen signed serialised card and certain numbers. I want to say it was 01 pen signed Asuna for 14k but don't hold me to that.
Yes black clover also had pen signed serialised cards so I'm sure it would have been one of them. The black clover pen signed card is selling for around 5000 usd right now.
Yea, I watch all the seasons of majority of these anime, but after a month or so, plz don't ask me their names lol.

I am a UA player here in Asia and I am actually quitting it to pick up Weiss Schrawz. I find game play and card design wise, UA is just not there. The normal cards are simply ugly.
