  • Especially for pilots of light aircraft, landing behind a large, heavy, or turbine powered airplane poses from very specific hazards. We explore these, and how to avoid them in this exciting video!

This is an excellent video on this subject. Definitely something to keep in mind when flying to large airports.

Doesn't matter how large the airplane is, wake is worse if the airplane is heavy. If it would just be large then gliders would be pretty dangerous for small planes. Nice video tho, keep up the good work.

Elias Frostensson Gliders are by no means considered “large” airplanes. And an aircraft doesn’t necessarily have to meet the FAAs legal definition of “heavy” in order to generate dangerous wake turbulence.

@@ERAUSpecialVFR A Cessna 182 can generate more wake turbulence than full deflection of the ailerons of a trailing 182 taking off in formation to counter.

Off course it does matter because there is a direct relationship between size or the aircraft and it's weight. Seems pretty obvious but you seemed to miss it.
