One additional thing I noticed, Daemon will often converse with Rhaenyr in their native Valyrian tongue. Does that denote a sense of intimacy or leans more to respect?
as I understand they also speak valyrian to eachother when they dont want anyone else understanding what they say, its like their secret language :D they actually really love eachother, Daemon might look like a villaint o some in the beginnign but he is more complicated than that , he really loves his family
Matt Smith said something similar to this in an interview. I can't find it right now but he said he found that speaking Valyrian brought another side of Daemon, a more vulnerable and real side or something and the fact that he only speaks it with Rhaenyra is really telling. Also, Milly Alcock said this “I wanted to make sure the Valyrian added to the sense of closeness that Daemon and Rhaenyra had. It’s almost like kids creating their own language. But I still wanted the scene to focus on the relationship, and the Valyrian just being a bit of the artwork in the space.”
I know a lot of people are using this as a hint to what happens in the books but as a child of immigrants with family as in the country when they chose to speak to me in our traditional language is more of a fact of respect and teaching and sometimes it just their nature and it feels more natural. While I do feel there is that intimacy I feel here and right now it more of a uncle and niece being close, playful and cheeky with each other than what others are suggesting right now.
I can only say without spoilers. George said that Daemon is his favorite Targaryen. Because he is such a complex charackter. Something notable in every targaryen household we've seen is a general inability to use their differing personalities as a strength. The first two chapters of the first book show a contrast where one household has 6 siblings more or less working together to strengthen eachother and another household having a brother sell his sister to a culture he doesn't understand. Definitely sets the tone for both series

On the contrary, he seems to be the one trying to protect his family's legacy (maybe that's why he didn't want to reproduce with the first wife?).That was Otto's speculation as he had already grasped the taste of being in political charge of the realm (as Hand). He knew well if Daemon was to become king, he would have rid of Otto in a blink. So, easy for him to try and remain there with his daughter/infant grandsons, etc. He even notices that trying to influence Rhaenyra was not going to work, as she has her own mind and opinions regarding him.

And also it's absolutely "targaryen affection..." which is only reserved for the siblings... that's definitely too much to say! I loved Daemon, he's not the typical Joffrey. He feels much more real as a person with his rights and wrongs instead of mindless villain, evil for evil's sake and you know the stuff.
I guess Deamon really care about Raenyra, the fact that a woman never sit on the iron throne, he never saw her as rival, he is a man who loves to play with people, to provocate them in a negative way but also play ironically with people in a positive way. This scene in the throneroom shows that they both know each other well and Rhaenyra knows about his preference to play games qith people and look how they act. Daemon is someone who likes to test the limits, and the both know their limits very well, so its more a power play from Dameon but Raenyra plays with his game because she maybe knows this is himself, this is how he is, so she shows him by responding to it or playing along and even challenging him in the process, that she accepts how he is and she loves her uncle, even he is to others often cruel, manipulative. For her it's the normal way to deal with him, because you don't really let him be dealt with in any other way.But in the end the power play becomes serious and the relationship between change fatally when it's clear that Raenyra is the heir to the iron throne.
A+ cosplay, Georgia. I also asked myself at the exact same scene if he didn't love her in a Targaryan way, as you nicely put it. Or hedged all his bets by grooming her as a potential bride? Genuine affection does not exclude manipulation in this world. But he seems more of a doer than a real schemer. Speaking of manipulation, I'd be interested on your thoughts on Alicent, the way her father basically encouraged her to seduce the king and how she appears cunning and doe-like at the same time.
There's BTS talk that they wanted him to be brutal throughout (like the stories told about him in GoT), but Matt Smith intentionally played him kinder with family. This adds more character depth and he's not one dimensional. So you were spot on.
Daemon is a wild card. In the books it's presented as a history that's written by an in universe Maester who is biased towards the winner of the eventual conflict of the show. So if Daemon is really a good or bad guy is kind of up in the air. He's probably a Jamie Lannister type not quite that evil but a gray character for sure. You may also notice that Otto Hightower as à(hand if the king) has Tywin vibes as the show goes on.
Great analysis and great writing/acting to play these characters as such. Even though I didn't actively think about the things you said as I watched the episode, I could still sense that Daemon cared for his niece and brother. As you said, when no one is looking, he doesn't act like an egotistical and violent asshole.
Rhaenyra doesn't WANT the Iron Throne here though. She says in this same episode how she's comfortable in her position. What she wants I think is to not be overlooked by her father for being female, and when she's talking to her mother about childbirth/ pregnancy, again doesn't want to be put in that role, saying she wants to ride her dragon.
Yes at first she doesn't really want the throne, but I think that's also because she never thought she could take it, but once she is named heir she is glad to take on he responsibilities and power, I think her hunger dor power stems from people oppressing her and stopping her from fulfilling those duties when it doesn't serve them
@@lilypond5158 I still don't think she has a hunger for power either, though. I think when she is put in the position as heir, she wants to take her responsibilities seriously because she wants to be an effective ruler. This is why she picks Criston Cole, someone with real battle experience, instead of other guards, to protect her father. And why she personally goes to Dragonstone to talk with her uncle and get back the egg. And why in the small council she says they should send dragons to the Stepstones. She doesn't want power, she wants to do her job effectively, at least for now.
@@bonafide4874 by power hungry I don't mean it in a greedy way, but that she craves dor something that she should rightfully have and is denied, so she has a desire to not be powerless
It was amazing. The only thing i can bring as an alternative analysis is i did not think Rhaenyra and Daemon were -or saw each other as- rivals because it was obvious that a man is going to sit on the throne. So i don't think Rhaenyra even saw herself as a potential heir until her father brought the topic. Daemon entered the place without letting anyone to know except Rhaenyra and meets with her as soon as he returns. I thought about it why would Daemon wanted to see Rhaenyra first but chose to sit on the throne. And my opinion was because he simply wanted to show her that this throne was going to be his one day. Their chemistry was already not on the level of simple niece/uncle.. you can literally see that tension from a mile. He wanted to show her this powerful image of him. It is also portrayed like that in modern series as well, lets say a male administrator has a crush on a female employee and when he understands that she is the one who is about to come in he just positions himself on his chair and tries to create an atmosphere that he is a very important person. That is how i felt but everyone's analysis might be different. And i especially love the analysis about necklace scene. It was illuminating.
You need to go back and do the same to GOT characters now, so many scenes for you to explore and deconstruct. Tyrion and Tywin would be my first choice.
I've read the books and I can tell you with confidence that you did a really great job analyzing these dynamics. That speaks volumes of your knowledge of the human mind, first and foremost, but also of how well the show is capturing the essence of these characters. They really such complex characters that people in the fandom have been analyzing them since the books came out and still find nuances after all these years. Definitely subscribing! I will keep in mind not to coment any spoilers for your sake from now on, but If you ever decide to read ASOIAF it would be an amazing feat to get a mind so insightful in that maze

Yes...unsuspecting of the true extent of the evil because of the mixture of warmth. I have dated ladies like that = ) And, as always, I am in awe of your cosplay skills.
No Spoiler answer to your question. I read the book this show is based off, you are 100% right about Daemon. He cares about House Targaryen more than his want to personally sit the Iron Throne.
I really like you try to cosplay everytime when you react to a movie, and as always, explaining every micro movement for each charactor and their emotion as well as their motive and emotions!! Wish i have the money to attend your session x.x!! amazing work!!!!
@@GeorgiaDow Yeah, there is no doubt she feels overlooked. Her father does however have her as a cupbearer, a place where she can pick up a lot of ruling and politics. I’m glad you haven’t read the books as I’m watching it like you as new to the story. Love your cosplay + analysis of tv shows recently - from stranger things to better call Saul 💖
After the letdown that was the last couple seasons of GoT and being frustrated with how long it's taking the next book to come out, I had sort of written this show off but it's a welcome surprise to hear how well the show is being received by many fans. As for the interactions you analyzed, it seemed to be "The Game" being played out to perfection.
It's hard to tell with the masterful way that Martin writes his stories (ie, unreliable narrators, lies and rumors, conspiracies). Since the books have the POV of that character, you get to parce the truth yourself. I believe Daemon will peel away layers but ultimately his primal self and desires will show how far he's willing to go. Much like our King with his desire for an heir.
Hmm there is NOT much on Daemon actually. There is some of it in a compedium. But the personality in the show is pretty much what we will get. But the few lines we get spoken by him, speaks of a man of extremes. Extreme cruelty and extreme love. Daemon Targaryen will live and die on his own terms and will let EVERYONE know it.
The TH-cam channel, Batt Productions, has made an audiobook of the source material, Fire and Blood. Georgia if you wish to listen to the part HOTD is based on, you can skip to Chapter 13 or so.
Your analysis is great it made me see Daemon and Rheanyra relationship in a different way at the beginning of the story. Love the cosplay. Is that toothless from how to train your dragon.
I was surprised by the show not good lie I forgot about the show until earlier today 😅. But was surprised over all its a good start. Ps... toothless I love him ❤️ so cute 😍.
And that, Ladies and Gentelman, is an awesome dragon xD Georgia I just love how you dress up differently on every episode xD Btw I would really like to see how you watch all the shows and movies and analyse them on the way xD this must be great xD
I have finally watched this :D So now I can watch yooouuu! The hair is on point, the necklaces are amazing, the shoulder/sleeve-thing you have is just deliciously hot and that cute baby dragon on your shoulder! I love that dragon so much! I couldn't stop looking at him the entire video :D What's his name? And did you really tape his lil pawsies on to the chair to keep him there? XD The show is surprisingly good! I didn't think it was going to be all that, but still watch worthy and it just was really good! I love that with her, he's just completely different person, he's an uncle, a teasing but loving uncle that wants what is best for her. I'm not sure he has the same love for his brother, I think it's more ego playing in between those two. And no one else seem to get to even see this side of him except for her. I wonder if he was like this growing up too, or if at some point he changed?
This comment brought me so much joy. Thank you! Yes I did tape the little dragons feet to the chair HAHA i cant believe you even caught that. So happy to know you enjoyed the cosplay as well. I agree their relationship is most interesting isn't it
SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Well you know, Daemon does sacrifice himself at the end of all of this, so he clearly isn't completely selfish. Family and legacy were more important to him than his own life. Either that or he really wanted to get the W lol.
never was much of a fan of the "all things will always go to s**t"-way GoT is made in, so I never watched the previous series or gonna watch this one, but thank you for the analysis anyhow Georgia! ^^
I haven't read the books (yet) but I feel like, with the few scenes that we have so far with both of them interacting, that you nailed it with your analysis. It's amazing how Game of Thronesy the first episode feels. They really set the stage well with this one.
I think he likes to be thought a jerk, but I think he really loves his Brother and his Niece and he's sorry that his Nephew dies. I think he likes to be seen as a loose cannon by everyone, and joking and bravado is really how he deals with things that are difficult.
Oooh C'mon there's no spoilers anymore everybody knows these two are going to marrying eventually. Deamon is a complex character, he really wants the throne but he is faithful to his Targaryen blood, that's why he wouldn't do anything agains them. You know I love GOT and HOTD but I can stop feel awkward with all this incest stuff. Aaaanyway your toothless behind you, is cute
Considering the Targaryen “love” between family members, this scene DID have a glint of ick to it LOL. The gift of a chain around a woman’s neck (as she demurely allows him to clip it on in some sort of sensual way) from feels much more like ownership. In GOT, women often start as pawns before finding power. Daemon, as Georgia said, doesn’t feel Rhaenyra is a threat. He admires her ability to verbally joust with him, but in the end he’ll always seeks the upper hand.
You are 100 percent WRONG. he is her champion utterly and completely. He NEVER owned her.. he's not that kind of character. At the end of the episode he frees Mysaria from sexual servitude/slavery at the brothel to be his companion on dragon back. He respects the women in his life and sees them as equals.
Hi i was wondering would you ever touch on Omori? idk how you can have the videos play but Omori goes over alot of psychological horror, guilt, forgiveness and trauma. So i hope you're interested!! 🥰
I took him sitting on the throne to be a sign of irreverence. I don’t think he cares to be king at all, he’s only concerned with his family and the strength of the realm and it’s people. He knows the position of king or queen is a meaningless title on it’s own.
Read Fire & Blood and you're spot on about Daemon's character. He's often referred to as "the wonder and the terror of his age" - definitely a complex guy! :)
Game of Thrones was an absolute huge let down as each season just kept getting worse. I will not be subscribing to any streaming platform to watch this. @@In-Nutshell yes I know. I’m just saying it wasn’t written by George to show that I mean it’s not an accurate description of daemon. Daemon was far more a ‘dragon’ than aemond ever was. And it doesn’t make any sense why Robert Baratheon would prefer aemond to daemon anyway

Therapist analysis for GoT, in that world, they need people like you, great video! Love your Dragon 🐉!
hehe, thank you!
I know ! he seemed all pious and then .. boom
There's BTS talk that they wanted him to be brutal throughout (like the stories told about him in GoT), but Matt Smith intentionally played him kinder with family. This adds more character depth and he's not one dimensional. So you were spot on.
Not Toothless on the background hahahah love it. Nailing the set and costume as always.
great video! please do the main show characters: Cersei, Jaime and so on !
Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your day 👍🏻
Daemon is a wild card.
Great analysis, great cosplay and a cute dragon friend!
Yeah what he said👆🙂👍
Rhaenyra doesn't WANT the Iron Throne here though.
D. sure took his time with the necklace 😉
Hm, never thought about that. Maybe he wanted to impress her. 🥰
Love these analysis
Why thank you Stannis =)
You're 100 percent correct.
Thanks so much !! I’m happy it was accurate
Whoa! Where is the Georgia cosplay in the thumbnail? ALMOST skipped this one in my feed because it was bereft of your smiling face! Good thing I looked twice! SPECTACULAR character breakdown! Yes...unsuspecting of the true extent of the evil because of the mixture of warmth. I have dated ladies like that = ) And, as always, I am in awe of your cosplay skills.
Haha thank you CL =))
No Spoiler answer to your question.
I read the book this show is based off, you are 100% right about Daemon. He cares about House Targaryen more than his want to personally sit the Iron Throne.
whoooohooo thank you =))
I really like you try to cosplay everytime when you react to a movie, and as always, explaining every micro movement for each charactor and their emotion as well as their motive and emotions!! Wish i have the money to attend your session x.x!! amazing work!!!!
I try, thank you for watching and commenting means a lot
I dont think Rhaenyra at this point wants the throne. But still very interesting video. Thanks for making and sharing.
I think she does as being constantly overlooked for a brother but perhaps not
@@GeorgiaDow Yeah, there is no doubt she feels overlooked. Her father does however have her as a cupbearer, a place where she can pick up a lot of ruling and politics. I just dont feel like she wants to rule at this point in here life as she also speaks about wanting to do other things thoo, like when she mentioned traveling.
I’m glad you haven’t read the books as I’m watching it like you as new to the story. Love your cosplay + analysis of tv shows recently - from stranger things to better call Saul 💖
Oh thank you!
It brought me back to the days when I expected to see the show be a grand chess match between Baelish and Varys.
@@TealWolf26 Wow! That's a great endorsement.
No games between these 2. He champions her until the end. His intentions never waver.
@@Persephone_Personified Interesting. Thanks!!
Love for you to do one for the brothers too
Hmm there is NOT much on Daemon actually. There is some of it in a compedium. But the personality in the show is pretty much what we will get.
But the few lines we get spoken by him, speaks of a man of extremes. Extreme cruelty and extreme love. Daemon Targaryen will live and die on his own terms and will let EVERYONE know it.
well said
@@GeorgiaDow please do analysis Daemon and Rhaenyra on Bridge scene in ep 2, so much going on that will trigger interesting discussion
Welcome and yes it is a toothless hehe
GIRL. WOW. I was already here, but I'm glueing my seat for your HOTD videos. XOXO
Loved this comment awesome !!
I was surprised by the show not good lie I forgot about the show until earlier today 😅.
But was surprised over all its a good start.
Ps... toothless I love him ❤️ so cute 😍.
Thank you for making this video, it was interesting 👍
Theraspists are needed in Westeros. Valar Morghulis.
And that, Ladies and Gentelman, is an awesome dragon xD Georgia I just love how you dress up differently on every episode xD Btw I would really like to see how you watch all the shows and movies and analyse them on the way xD this must be great xD
thanks I enjoy it, happy it is appreciated
I have finally watched this :D So now I can watch yooouuu!
The hair is on point, the necklaces are amazing, the shoulder/sleeve-thing you have is just deliciously hot and that cute baby dragon on your shoulder! I love that dragon so much! I couldn't stop looking at him the entire video :D What's his name? And did you really tape his lil pawsies on to the chair to keep him there? XD
The show is surprisingly good!
I agree their relationship is most interesting isn't it
Please do The Walking Dead
you didnt discuss any of the second half of the season?
SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Well you know, Daemon does sacrifice himself at the end of all of this, so he clearly isn't completely selfish. Family and legacy were more important to him than his own life. Either that or he really wanted to get the W lol.
you're spot on abt daemon
Thanks Sarah !
Daemon will end up the good guy
never was much of a fan of the "all things will always go to s**t"-way GoT is made in, so I never watched the previous series or gonna watch this one, but thank you for the analysis anyhow Georgia! ^^
it is still pretty brutal but it also has some hope - )
I haven't read the books (yet) but I feel like, with the few scenes that we have so far with both of them interacting, that you nailed it with your analysis. It's amazing how Game of Thronesy the first episode feels. They really set the stage well with this one.
In a way daemon behave alot like a cat that like to play with its food for amusement rather than go for the kill to eat to survive.
Hi Georgia I have a question!
Nice
GOT
pride
Lust
Warth
In a nutshell 😊🙂
bro, she literally said she has no interest in the throne lol
she said that.... but you think she meant it ?
@@GeorgiaDow in her words 'all I care about is cake' lol
I dare you to analyze ....the DRAGONS personalities now mwahhahahaha lol I love Rhaenyra!!!
OOOOH that is for sure a video =))
Hi i was wondering would you ever touch on Omori? idk how you can have the videos play but Omori goes over alot of psychological horror, guilt, forgiveness and trauma. So i hope you're interested!! 🥰
I'll check it out and see I placed it on my list
I took him sitting on the throne to be a sign of irreverence. I don’t think he cares to be king at all, he’s only concerned with his family and the strength of the realm and it’s people. He knows the position of king or queen is a meaningless title on it’s own.
Is that toothless? :)
Thanks fot the breakdown, i have found your channel not long ago and been a fan since
Yes it is =P hahah welcome
Is that toothless on your shoulder and Georgia your look kinda remind me of Margaery.
why yes it is =)
Read Fire & Blood and you're spot on about Daemon's character. He's often referred to as "the wonder and the terror of his age" - definitely a complex guy! :)
Game of Thrones was an absolute huge let down as each season just kept getting worse. I will not be subscribing to any streaming platform to watch this. Not to mention that you have to subscribe to crave in Canada then upgrade that subscription to the HBO package and it’s over $30 a month to have both. not worth it
I subscribed to crave a few weeks ago to watch Westworld and Irma Vemp. HBO was included. Just checked as of October 2021 all content available for all plans, looks like HBO, HBO max not always was included.
"But Daemon was more snake than dragon" - Robert Baratheon
That was never written by George
@@matthewtait2939 it's taken from the narration
@@In-Nutshell yes I know. I’m just saying it wasn’t written by George to show that I mean it’s not an accurate description of daemon. Daemon was far more a ‘dragon’ than aemond ever was. And it doesn’t make any sense why Robert Baratheon would prefer aemond to daemon anyway
Beep boop, comment for algorithm
Im sorry, I dont usually comment... but your outfit is absolutely stunning, I just HAD TO say it
Thank you SO much for sharing that it means the world to me. made my day with your comment =)))
Nah, it wasn't too much to say lmao!!
These are awesome.. do more on house of the dragons 🥰 maybe you could start game of thrones too 😁 much love
Great suggestion! who knows I may
I am pretty sure you nailed it.

They will be married and one of their sons is Daenery's great 5x grandfather.
Can you make the black queen Cersei dress?
i sure can try =)
I still remember him as the 11 doctor, and another doctor who main actor to play a villain. Anyone else?
yes it was a touch hard to unseen at first

Hey, this is Game of Thrones too. These two proly dead by the end of this season.
Your little toothless dragon lol

if you think that is weird... you shouldn't see my other videos =P
What?
I can imagine the horrific look on a therapist face, when Daemon complaints about his erectile disfunction.
except the last bit where he insults the dead baby
I don't think he meant it as insult though. That's sad truth, the baby was an heir for a day.
