    Glad I stumbled on your video. I have an axle seal leaking and was wondering what the innards looked like before I tore into it. Doesn't look too bad just going to be a tight fit for my 6'4" 240 lb self.

    I desperately need to overhaul a Bobcat Clark 300 which is very similar but it's a daunting prospect, good work mate, cheers for sharing!

    Did you do a reinstall video? I bought one of these years ago. Front axles seals started leaking. I pulled it apart and replaced them... Then life got in the way. Fast forward...8 years... I am going to try to put it back together... if I can find everything and it's not rotted away.

    I have to do clutches on one for a customer, doesn’t look too bad to do it

      No, it really wasn't that bad. Very intimidating to look at, but it's really quite basic.

      Ya, there's no easy way to do it without taking it all apart

    I have bought a m371 and I didn't get to take it apart as former owner passed away and was in the process of restoring. I have everything done besides adjustment of clutches. The service manual only tells you how to adjust if installed and im getting frustrated as cant get forward and backwards movement. Do you have any tips on reinstalling clutches to get close to adjustment ? Did you jack up all 4 tires and or did you have the 371started or not? did you have running while you adjusted clutches?
    Any tips of tricks you can think of I would greatly apricate as i can get one side forward and one side backwards but never both. Its almost like i have forward and backwards mixed up as lever forward it likes to go backwards more so than forwards when I adjust that nut

    • @7xthomas
      @7xthomas  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember correctly, it's just a matter of tightening the nut until enough pressure can be created with the movement of the control arms. Make sure you have the discs wet with oil, they won't work without it. I set my initial load while the front cover was off by spinning the tires, pulling the arm, and adjusting until it moved the drive chains inside. Once I had that, I started it and did some more adjusting while it was in the air. The tires will always move when the discs are tight enough (while it's jacked up).
      I hope this helps.

    Looking at this M371, I am wondering if I could pull all of the shafts and remove the center rib with all of the components. What do you think, you have experience. the rear shaft has a sleeve over the shaft, do the two clutch shafts have a sleeve too?

    • @7xthomas
      @7xthomas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On mine, all the cross shafts anchored into the outer plates as well. I had no choice but to remove the shafts all the way. Plus that stuff is heavy. I don't remember them having a sleeve on them

    Hi, A friend brought over a M371 with the exact same issue. What did you have to do to repair the sprocket? Part numbers would be great if you have them and where did you find the parts?

    • @7xthomas
      @7xthomas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a Torrington bearing. It takes 2. B 1412 if my memory serves right. Press out the old, press in the new

    How did you remove the chains? Are there removable links? I have the same problem only the other side.

    • @7xthomas
      @7xthomas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each chain has a master link. I just separated them at those points.
