Clearly how the o-line goes will determine if the offense has a chance to succeed. Am excited to see if o-linemen, TEs, and RBs working together in practice will lead to more cohesion in pass blocking. Theory makes sense and team must improve from recent history. Can't remember how many years its been since an above average line.
One of the OLine biggest problems has been the inability to pick up stunts and twists. Hopefully Bricillo addresses the issue. The "why" is important because when everything goes wrong ( happens to the best of us ), there is still a clear objective. Without the "why" there is no direction.
Great stuff! Your interviews are fantastic! I have tons of confidence in the left side of the line. Hoping that Evan Neal can stay healthy and reach his potential. That would be huge!
This is where my concerns are, I am hoping that these guys will be an improvement over last year's circus of bad play and injuries. Good luck gentleman 💪
@@jamesskeeter I don't think his size was ever the problem. From what I've heard, it's his technique and footwork that need improvement. Really hoping he gets the job done but he doesn't seem really enthusiastic about his future in this interview...
I hope this Oline quickly gels into a dominant unit Thomas-Elumenor-JMS-Runyan Jr-Neal should be a top Oline. It all hinges on Evan Neal playing to his potential. If the Oline excels then Jones & the offense will be dangerous with all the weapons we have & with our deep wide receiver corps. New Oline coach Carmen Bricillo was a good hire. I think he can really get this unit playing at a high level. Let’s Go Giants! Shut the haters, doubters & naysayers up.👍🙂
Andrew can be a leader on that oline with the help of the veterans Runyan and Eluminor. Hopefully this will help Neal and Schmitz. This is the year! Us Giants fans have waited over a decade!!!!!!!
This OLine will have its ups and downs but if everyone stays healthy they will be much better overall. Evan Neal has the tools to be a very solid tackle. It’s all about him getting the reps and the coaching.
Good questions to Evan Neal, bad answers. I'd put a 200lb weight on his shoulders to force his a$$ down. It's like he just can't do it. You can talk hand placement all you want but his hands are high because he is big. If his COG doesn't get lower he will never be capable. AND his feet are slow. I feel sorry for him a lot. I think dominant edge guys are smaller (a mere 275lbs) so they are a lot faster. Big tackles are generally having a lot of trouble with smaller, faster guys rushing.
Exactly. I feel for him because he and many others aren't built for the backwards movement of pass pro. Which why he should be a great run blocker, but this line couldn't do that either because saquon was dodging tackles the backfield. Neal needs to step up though.
I think there's a missed opportunity to ask obvious follow up questions. For example, Runyan answering a question about the new scheme talks about how it's different than what he's used to and how he sees the game. So where's the question about what those differences are, what's the reason for the differences, how they present different challenges, advantages, disadvantages?
To be fair, I thought the follow up to Neal about what specifically he needs to work on in pass pro was great, even though he didn't really answer it. Also, the Eluemenor follow up about the difference Bricillo offers in defining the job but giving them a bit more freedom in how it gets done was helpful in getting a little better insight.
