Thomas, Pugh, flowers, Neal…we have drafted more 1st rd OL than almost anyone last 10 yrs. We need coaching and I really hope Carmen Bricillo has us as a functioning line. That opening night game vs Dallas was brutal.

Yeah Bobby Johnson was the worst

The only redeeming thing about Bobby Johnson is that he's on the Commanders now and will ruin their oline instead.

The second play you brought up against Chris Jones wasn’t Runyan. That was their other guard that they would rotate in and out of games. He wears 75, Runyan wears 76

@@YooperMan906 If you can’t see the number switch to “75” from “76” from the previous play to the next then I don’t know what to tell you. One has a hand warmer in the back and one doesn’t. Look closely at the numbers

If he can pick up a stunt, he's already better then everyone on the team at that not named Thomas.

Underrated signing just like Eluemunor. Excited to see what Bricillo can get out of him in the run-game. His best position is LG.

    • @jasonmahr5397
      @jasonmahr5397 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

It looks like his best position is RG. Stinnie will be the starting LG. Eleumenor replaces Neal if Neal struggles early.

@@jasonmahr5397 Runyan played better on the left side with Green Bay over the years and struggled some/split snaps when he was moved to RG plus he was hurt. He’s a much better pass-blocker than run-blocker and you need a bully RG who moves bodies consistently in the run game. Runyan even said his best position is LG in interviews. Bro playing LG. Eluemunor starting at RG and Neal starts at RT until he doesn’t. Stinnie is competing with Ezeudu & McKethan for G depth but I like his chances to make the 53. If Neal struggles then Eleumunor goes to RT and Neal goes to RG or sits imo. Schlottman is backup Center and Matt Nelson is swing T

These new additions will help each other become better in a sense of lining up across from each other and competing during training camp is plus that most may not be realizing.

Love this pickup. It’s ironic that Jon Runyan Sr was an Eagle(🤢) who battled Strahan in their heyday. Now Jon Runyan Jr joins us. He brings more than just talent at guard because he is a gritty hard working set the example type of leader with great intangibles.
Now I liked Bredson who was solid & versatile but Runyan should be an upgrade. Plus good Olines mesh & have a synergy where they play together as a unit greater their individual parts.
Our starting Oline looks set with:
    Thomas-Eluemunor-Schmitz-Runyan-Neal
Our draft priorities change now too. Oline doesn’t need to be a priority although there is no reason we can’t draft an Olineman especially if he’s the best player available. I have high hopes for this unit & for the new Oline coach. I’m really excited about adding Burns, Runyan, Euemunor, Singletary, etc Lived Saquon but that chapter is over.
Bummed about McKinney because we lost Love last year but it feels like the Landon Collins situation where a team overpaid & we smartly bowed out. I like when we keep our own which a team must do if they claim to “build through the draft.” Schoen has been retaining most of our best guys & making hard decisions. McKinney stings more thAn Saquon but this is how it goes sometimes.
Anyway our draft priorities were: #1 WR, Oline, pass rush, & depth. Now it should be:
#1 WR, Dline, TE, RB, S, Oline, pass rush. I hope we take Nabers or Odunze Round 1 & surround DJ as best as we can. If we don’t draft a QB we have to make sure Jones is surrounded with talent. I hope DJ has a breakthrough year but if he doesn’t the. We seriously have to seriously start looking for a nee franchise QB.
Though I want Naber or Odunze I would ‘t hate trading down for more picks as we traded our 2nd along with a 5th for Burns (we got a good deal). Schoen needs to try to get extra draft capital for a future trade up next year. Can’t wait for the draft. Let’s Go Giants!

Personally with Neal at RT I want best tackle available with good DD done to know which picks to trade back for if there isn’t that kind of guy available at 6

Seems like the Giants are prioritizing pass blocking over run blocking which makes sense as it’s a passing league now and now that you don’t have Barkley, the Giants will likely go more pass heavy.

We had to upgrade the o line it was the second worst to ever step on a nfl field.
We definitely need to fix def run blocks an Burns doesn’t set the edge great an he more of a speed guy so I feel we over paid for him

The big concern from this film is actually watching how utterly passive and hesitant Kayvon looks on his pass rushes against the Pack. That first Schoen draft class has been a monumental disappointment.

Bobby, is Runyon coachable, i.e., can Bricillo teach him how to run block? Will he respond to coaching at this point in his career? My gut tells me that it's not likely and that what we see on film is what we can expect to get. It's hard to get excited about this free agent, although the improvement in pass blocking is sorely needed. Thanks for all your hard work!

Solid pass protector, but trips over his own feet when pulling in the run game.
Yeah, just what we need with Saquon gone. WHEN will this team get smart in drafting O-Lineman???
And do NOT say we drafted Andrew Thomas. Gettleclown picked him at #5 in a tackle-rich draft after ignoring the position for years and AFTER picking Saquon Barkley.
That is like buying bullets before you own the weapon.
