Left Kote (protector of left hand) is big and right Kote is small like cloth globe to grasp gunsword easily. Left Chest additional protector (protect left chest and left shoulder additionally).

You can strike to the chest as well in Jukendo, see Baptiste's comment regarding bogu, he is the KW Jukendo guru :)

They wear an additional piece of armor on the chest and an enlarged throat protector.

They have a big shoulder/heart guard on the left shoulder. It's a target.

Jukendo started in Meiji age because government soldiers had no time to load a gun with a next bullet when sword men charged and attacked government soldiers in Japanese civil war.
Therefore Jukendo's gunsword length is same as the length of gun imported from United States after finished "CIVIL WAR".

Now if Kendokas wore this type of bogu along with Naginata suneate it would make for a more interesting training.

Just a thought, but I can't help but think that the use of decommissioned AR-15s would be better in modern days.

Bruva Galathos What you say is true for modern warfare training, but this was not meant for modern fighting. It's modern competition based on traditional weaponry, along the same lines as kendo.

최세훈 The military training and practice was banned, yes. Mucg of the military and samurai training was modified into budo and sport to conform with peacetime initiatives.

What are you talking about? Of course Judo or Karate were banned. And later permitted.
