Far more movies in the 60s and 70s of muscle cars being crashed than films today even having sportscars. Sportscars were never scarce in the 70s and were always about on the streets. True. The Dukes smashed dozens of Chargers back then they were buyable for 2000$ and there were thousands of em. But if a Movie is produced.today or like ten years ago its fucked up to use a classic. Even when its a wreck there were some salvageable parts on it
Oddly enough the later model GTO, when they customise it, ALL of the custom parts are from its HSV cousin. In Australia, the basic V8 model is known as the Monaro CV8. Holden's turner wing HSV had two versions, the GTO coupe and the Coupe 4. The latter is an AWD version. Both look a lot more aggressive than the stock Pontiac GTO, and it truly surprises me that Pontiac didn't ask Holden for permission to use the HSV body kits, as they would have sold a lot more of them

None of the parts are HSV parts. Although the bumper does appear to be a V8 Supercar Holden VY Commodore bumper modified to look more Pontiac-ish
