- Here is Hunter Foster and Michael-Leon Wooley's performance of "Sudden Changes / Feed Me (Get It)" from the September 23, 2003 preview performance of the original Broadway production of "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Virginia Theatre in New York.
After the failed Florida try-out earlier in the year, the video of which is posted here ( • Video ), the show was totally scrapped and reproduced from the ground up, with a new director (Jerry Zaks), new choreography, new set-design, and a new cast. Virtually the only element to survive the move to Broadway was the casting of Hunter Foster (fresh off of the musical URINETOWN) in the role of Seymour Krelborn.
This video also features Douglas Sills as Orin Scrivello, Kerry Butler as Audrey, and puppeteering on The Plant done by Martin P. Robinson, Anthony Asbury, Bill Remington, or Matt Vogel.

the puppeteering in this performance is so lifelike and full of character…wow
It actually makes sense once you consider the designer and main puppeteer behind this plant: Martin P. Robinson. He's a principal puppeteer for Sesame Street, having joined Jim Henson's company in 1980, and he actually designed (and operated) the plant from the original Little Shop of Horrors off-Broadway back in 1982.
To think that Audrey II shares a voice with Louis the Freakin' Alligator from Princess and the Frog.

I wondered why Frankenstein's voice from Frankenstein a new musical sounded so familiar until I connected it to Seymour's voice and I was surprised and giddy to find that they are played by the same actor

Hell yes it is I've been watching different performances of little shop all day and this is the best plant!
The voice of the plant is Michael - Leon Wooley …. Amazing voice actor
Michael Leon-Woolley is great as the voice of Audrey, but I must admit that I still think Levi Stubbs did it better because he sang/played it as a creature that loved to manipulate no matter how obvious his intentions were.
Imo this is the best cast 👏👏👏👏

One question what happened to the Florida Tryout bootleg? Why did it get removed from TH-cam (except for the clips of Somewhere That’s Green with Alice Ripley and Suddenly Seymour with Foster and Ripley)?

Special_Effect I know about those. I'm referring to the other tendrils.
+OptimusPhillip most likely strings if I remember correctly, each puppet made for the play works a little differently
I believe the extra ones were remote controlled.
Is the plant pot supposed to wobble like that or did the puppeteer almost have an accident? I got scared for a second hahaha 😳
