Good video friend I have question I watched engineers test acb mechanisms on regular basis, they would shut off acb and then rack it out not fully??? Then rack back in, pump and energize again. Why did they rack it out????
Hi steve, the pumping action is to charge the coil, after the coil is charged the acb is ready to close the circuit again. The reason we rack it out not fully i assume is to move the breaker to a test mode/ maintainence mode, where main contacts are isolated(open) and control circuits remain connected. In this position we will be able to still test the function of the breaker without closing the circuit at all(we dont want to open and close the circuit so many times during test as it cause disruptions to the loads). Therefore racking to test position ensures one time power off and give you ability to test various features of the breaker many times before racking in again for operation. Hope this explains
@@themeengineers1671 you sir are a legend thanks so much for the response that clears it up nicely, I always wondered why now I know. Hope to see more videos from you soon, its excellent content.
What is the useful life for the ACB? In terms of maintenance, in what interval ACB shall be maintained (monthly? Half yearly? yearly?) and what are the scopes involved?
Hi Jerry thank you for your comment. ACB's useful life tags with the Switchboard of 20 years if it is well maintained. In terms of maintenance, a yearly Basic end-user maintenance program and Standard end-user maintenance program every 2 years is required. As for OEM maintenance, depending on the current loading, criticality and environment it is recommended to have maintenance every 2years for bad conditions, and 5 years for better conditions. Hope that answers your questions!
If the the trip unite gets tripped, does the current stop flowing thourh the entier acb and is it onlt the trip unit that can break the current if there is somthing wrong?
The entire acb is opened once the trip unit detects a fault. A good trip unit shows the fault type for the engineer to rectify. Once fault is rectified the acb can be reset and re closed. Hope i answered your question

Hello. I have sace emax. But the display is not starting on. Once Db is powered. What could be the cause ?? What should I do?
Hi, do ensure that the dc supply is in. Or acb itself is powered on. Otherwise it might be a faulty trip unit.
kindly discuss about Frame Sizes of ACB.
Hi they are usually described as AF, amp frame, it comes in 800, 1250, 1600, 2000,2500, 3200,4000,5000,6300.
Good....
