    This is exactly what my Bluesound node streamer needs to control volume.

    M5 do some amazing things and they are economically priced as well, but you do need to buy them as a project and do your own firmware, or play with something like ESPHome with them. That said, they are so flexible and can be used to do virtually anything you can dream of. Really love them all

      I really like what they do with UIFlow. Especially for the graphics interface. We need some good tools that can make these in an easy way and provide basic code to interact. I usually start with that and switch over to text based IDE.

      The are Development devices for rapid R&D, not finished deployable devices.

      I wouldn't mind m5dial in this form on my wall. There are bare one board that you can develop on that don't come close with the level of polish. It doesn't make them better or worse just best suited for other purposes

      @@notenoughtech I have a lot of them on my wall.

    Would love if it when there would be a brushless DC motor added as rotary encoder in this formfactor😍

    I started a home heating controller project but haven't had time to work on the project due to writing the documentation.
    Also I had already provided an example program in UIFLow2's project zone for the dial.

    Thanks for the Video! Very interesting device! Looking forward to see how you manage to build a nice thermostat with this!
    I am also looking for a thermostat controller solution, but I do want to it to be battery powered for attaching it on the wall

    Looks cool, though I wonder how it compares to the Din Meter. I have not seen many videos about the Din Meter, but it seems that a lot of similar UI/UX concepts would be transferable (except for the touch screen, of course).

    Nice overview! Does micro python have good MQTT or Home Assistant API support?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you have MQTT support in both UIFlow and Micropython

    Are there any M5 devices that would make for an alternative to the S3 Box for local voice assistant...? 😏

    Is it possible to connect it to IoT devices like sensibo or Tado that control the AC via wifi?
    Also it it possible to connect it to electric socket via cable for power? No directly to the wall

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's DC6-36V. As long as you have API end points on your devices you can make it work with the dial

    I've just dismantled mine and am in the process of spraying the visible bits white. If you're careful, it comes apart quite easily.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      how hard would this be to 3D print? Any difficult geometry? I haven't disassembled the one I had as it wasn't mine

      th-cam.com/video/Y-BGyQZxsj8/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/khZVJJqHsW0/w-d-xo.html for non-destructive disassembly and reassemble. Obviously, proceed at your own risk!

      Yes - you can issue REST requests
