There is allways a chance that a friendly nation backstabbs you, but the better the relations are the less it can happen
You can siege a city so you don't have to attack right away. You really need to start getting some cannon techs, limbered artillery is huge advantage. Also, howitzers a good investment for conquering India. The Marathas have so many troops and quicklime shells are devastating for their horde of troops.
Long time sub here love the serie
After you have given an order to a unit press R so they can run it's much more quick and easy.
T= fire at will
F= melee
I discovered you channel with your vicky 2 tuto, helped me a lot :).
I hope I remember tomorrow :D
Your video was recommended, after a saw a documentary about VOC. I am a new sup and I’m very happy that I found your channel, your videos are great. Also it’s funny as German to hear the similarities in the language :)
Interesting! Welcome :D
i was recommended this video. i played eu4 with friends and then i looked up some runs like knights of rhodes so i found a few channels to subscribe. i also play warhammer 3 so i looked up a few videos.
Interesting!
If the Marathas go after you, you can keep a minimal garrison on Ceylon and have a decent stack take over settlements in India without much care. India is too big to be held effectively by the AI
Fire and advance is totally useless in this game because it was incompetently implemented. The men have to shuffle into a slightly looser formation, then when one rank fires, the one behind runs up and fires a volley. Problem is, after three ranks have done this, the entire unit resets FROM SCRATCH. It’s literally just fire by rank but worse and with more steps.
Oh goodness :(
@@FlyingDutchyPlatoon fire is also worthless unless you enjoy the Ripple Fire aesthetic and watching your men get absolutely shit stomped by fire by rank units.
Edit: please also stop using group functions with your infantry formations. Organize your deployment at the start into equal amounts of units (with regard to infantry) and treat them as separate entities. This allows for greater flexibility and you can adjust the formations to maximize firepower in restrictive terrain.
Cavalry, in my opinion, should be concentrated on one flank rather than split. This allows for a more thorough exploitation of undefended flanks and forces the enemy AI to react to your movements at your benefit, meaning ONCE YOU HAVE ARTILLERY you can decimate out of position formations with cannon and musket fire.
I would also recommend, once you eventually get artillery, to hold at the bridge rather than in your dockyard (though definitely still leave a garrison there) because you have two choke points the enemy must cross to face you and you can simply bombard them with impunity as they attempt to cross either the bridge (which is breakable) or the low water crossing. If you do it right with a mix of howitzers and foot artillery, you can have overhead fires protecting your infantry as well as decimating enemy pushes across the choke points.
This series has been quite enjoyable though, despite the few critiques I have on your strategies. Seeing someone still playing ETW these days is awesome to me and I’m hoping you take this advice and use it to greater effect in future episodes.
My strategies for battle’s comes from a lot of trial and error as well as pulling from real historical doctrines (if you pay attention to Napoleonic tactics, you can see where I’m coming from on my advice).
It popped up in my feed. A long time fan of the series.
Alright! So you were not subscribed when you saw my video?
@@FlyingDutchy I was not, but I am now as I'm curious to see your play through!
