The sucking thing about this is the cord. The cord plays a big part as far as placement options. Also if you have kids or pets. The cord is a hassle

Thank you for responding, I was asking because another small unit just like it only worked that way and I was wondering if this was the pattern, I still would like to pick your brain if I can, if you don't know already know the answer to this question, it might be too technical, I've tried looking up the answer myself to this question off google, but so far not found the answer that handles the question head on. Here is the question: How does any wifi motion alert feature from a security camera, actually reach the phone, when the phone is say 1 mile or more away from the security camera? I understand cell phones have both wifi and cellular service enabled, but why would the cellular chip on a cellphone even matter or play any role? The camera connects to your home wifi service for example, and obviously it's easy to understand why motion alert signals would work when your phone is on your home wifi and in the close vicinity of the camera which is also on the same wifi network, but would this camera's motion alerts being sent to the phone only work when the phone is say within 200 feet of the camera?

The phone uses an app you download. As long as the camera is connected to your Wi-Fi , your phone will alert you of motion anywhere you are in the world. You can be either connected to cellular or connected to a Wi-Fi signal from your local Starbucks, as long as your phone is getting a signal, the app will alert you when your camera gets motion.

How do you change the time format? Even after syncing to my phone it goes into the 24hr time. This isnt my 1st rodeo im good with this kind of thing..i even set daylight savings and N.Y. time. Nothing that 19:03 etc time will so as such
