You do realize how dumb that is, since these are made for specifically only Danooct1 to look at? Surprise and stealthiness isn't needed but it's good to do for these since these usually have multiple payloads.

The first virus is an awesome way to give your greatest enemy a headache. Have you ever used Windows Server 2003? It is very similar to Windows XP and it may have some entertaining viruses. It also asks you for a reason why you want to shut it down every time you shut it down.
Mostly because it's meant to run, well, servers, and they are usually running other things that need to stay online indefinitely - if you're at a company they probably want to know why the server was taken offline (for updates, perhaps...)
I'd love to decompile this virus and see how the UAC exploit works, but I'm sure the original author isn't that stupid to release it to the public.
I've seen some easy methods that involve some simple VBS, but I've never seen it used on a computer with UAC turned on, so I don't know if it's the same exploit used in this trojan.

5:25 iirc Windows 10 slightly reduces the quality of wallpapers (likely to save memory for things like slideshow wallpapers), and you can modify how much it compresses the image when set using the registry

This and calculator was very cool! And then, this viewer-made malware can be very dangerous. In schools like mine, many many computers are severely outdated (by software) on Windows 7. If someone irresponsible tries this out on the school's computers, we'll be completely paralyzed (we rely a lot on Smart boards and laptops).
Please, if there is any download links in the forum, make sure you put enough warnings to remember that it can harm the computer (and that it might be illegal to use this software on someone's device without his approval). If it bypasses the UAC and can gain system privileges without any user interaction, this can be catastrophic.

I messed around with system services multiple times before. And after I closed quite a few svchosts in Win10, the desktop background would just die, and since there's nothing clearing the graphics buffers, I got a basically cleaner version of that payload. So maybe a dwm hook would allow that to happen perfectly.

hey, danooct1, can you teach me how to get a vm to work? everytime i try to start up my vm, the vm says "FATAL EROOR: no bootable medium found, system halted" in white with a black background, but windows 95 boots into a command prompt, and i cant figure out how to boot from there.

Yikes, the C drive ejecting part reminds me of when I had a Dell Latitude laptop where the hard drive was mounted in a removable slot (it was a Dell Latitude E6400) and I accidentally just slightly disconnected the drive, so nothing was working and I thought I'd got a virus or something! LOL

Hey Dan, what's a "safe" way to run/test viruses in a VM?
Now I'm not Dan, and I've never tried doing it, but some words of caution:
(FYI, I present this information with a "Proceed at your own risk" disclaimer. I'm not responsible if you screw your stuff up or if you happen to screw someone else's stuff up. That's on you.)
Here's some things to keep in mind:
1. be VERY careful if you use any sort of "passthrough drive" feature in your virtual machine software (like, having a physical USB drive that's attached to your real computer serving as a USB drive on the VM) to get files on the VM.
2. Before running any malicious software, ALWAYS disattach any shared drive/manner in which the VM can access your real hard drive, you don't want to infect your games or business files or whatever you have on your actual computer.
3. Unless you know how to safely sandbox their spreading routines (if applicable), don't connect the virtual machine to the internet. Some malware could theoretically still spread, say, by email.
