Interestingly, Xenoyr, the growl vocalist and co-founder was originally more of a black metal dude, and not so much into prog, but the band… just turned out that way and he let it happen. As someone who's fond of both black and prog, this is beautiful.

Just found this band a few days ago and has been blowing me away ever since. This is almost scary good, I haven't been this amazed by a band since I discovered Opeth many years ago

Yeah, same. Been holding off listening to other stuff in case I do more reactions. They're too good not to.

I've been a Patron of theirs for a while. I'm not into balck/fancy metal either, but they are amazing. Worth every dollar.

I finally figured out who that harsh vocalist sounds like, Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth. His lows sound IDENTICAL, in this song at least.

@@ToddFraud glad I'm not alone in that. Was surprised no one has agreed with it. It's seriously just like him.

at times perhaps, when he uses more of a death growl, but most of his vocals are more of a black metal scream that arent really anything like mikael.

If you like prog you should definitely check out the band Ayreon. The song "The Day That the World Breaks Down" has 11 main singers and is absolutely nuts! So good! I won't spoil who they are, but there are some big names, especially from the European metal scene.
Basically the band is Arjen Anthony Lucassen. He plays multiple instruments and hires guests for the rest. There is a video version from his channel.

That was truly the first time I have heard this. At first wasn't sure about it, but it caught on quick. Technical skill grabbed me most of all and the smooth transitions to the many evolutions. Definately be listening to this more. Alot to breakdown here.

Yeah I'm still listening to it and trying to process it all. Its growing on me more and more though!

A week ago?! How did I miss this? Hands down my favorite band in the last 5 yrs. I saw them live 3x they sound as great as their albums. For me, they have all the elements I look for in extreme metal. Melody, intensity, emotion, depth, technicality, violin, clean beautiful vocals and harsh vocals, strong compositions and in this particular song a spanish flair. Most of all, DYNAMICS! really dynamic band. I also get bored with dream theater but these guys, no way! If you do another song by them i recommend "Devour me, Colossus".

Glad we could sort of change your mind on them. They are fantastic live, I caught them at Soundwave (Metal, Punk, Rock Festival) a few years ago. The drummer is Dan Presland and he has a channel on here where he does playthroughs if you want to see more of his skills.

I somehow missed this reaction. Ne Obliviscaris is one of my absolute favorite bands. I have all of their albums on a playlist. Not one bad song from these guys! If you haven't yet, I would recommend Cypecore - Dissatisfactory. Hope you enjoy them!

Sadly they just toured the US in October 2018 (and 3 times before that). They might return late 2019 after recording the next (4th) album.

How do you feel about Trivium? I'd like to see how your daughter reacts to some of their stuff. Keep showing her metal, that's good parenting right there lol.

Eh.. not really a fan of their music. Havent really listened to them since they first came out. Saw them with Lamb of God, Gojira, and Machine Head back in the day.

@@beautyandthebeardedbeast that's totally fine man, they did kinda fall off a little bit over the years but their album they put out in 2017 is pretty damn good imo. Lots of heavy and melodic stuff in there plus their new drummer is kick ass.
