If one of your goals really is monetization, I reiterate that separating the animations on a channel different than the one for artwork will help you reach it that much sooner, and it is easier to achieve such separation before your channel grows more. I’m actually 16 😂, but people would think that I am younger sometimes. Also now that I think about it having more than 1 channel doesn’t seem like a bad idea because it could show people that I can do more than just make animations/artworks
Yeah, I wouldn't want to insist in other cases, but I have seen this happen, and different audiences really require different channels. As soon as I separated my animations, they grew amazingly fast, as before they were being held back by the illustrations audience. And be happy about looking younger. It may not seem optimal right now, but it will be good in the long run. I am ancient, but people think I am way younger because of my face. Besides, your voice sounds your age, so you can shut people up if they start bugging you. When you create your animation channel, please let me know, as I'll want to follow it since the beginning. I want geeky animation channels to thrive, especially when they create their own material, like you do. (Not like other channels that just trace movie scenes or recolor other people's animations.)
True true, but I feel animation and artwork would go into the same category because if you really think about animation is just artwork that’s moving while artwork is just animation that’s frozen… a little quote I just came up btw
That's an intellectual way of looking at it, but it is not necessarily the best way to see it for TH-cam. For channel growth, the audience rules. People who are interested in animation are not interested in watching artwork speedpaint videos, that is what I have found. People who subscribe to a channel for the animations will then completely ignore the artwork videos, causing TH-cam to think that channel's main audience is not interested in the channel's content, which would actually be true in that case. It is possible that, if one reaches a certain point in fame and a strong connection with the audience, that audience may be willing to watch artwork videos and almost anything else done by the creator, but starting level audiences will watch the animations and nothing else. (Be ready for people to "request" the animations they want, and be ready for them to want them quickly. Since some people think they can demand you to create whatever they desire as if your entire life were meant to please them, just basically be ready to let them know that is not the case.) Again, it is your choice to keep your channel(s) however you want them, but you want monetization, and I am not lying when I tell you that you can reach it that much faster and more easily by keeping your animation videos on their own channel. If you look at bigger channels, they either handle animation alone or they are about artwork and comics, with the artist talking about different topics while they draw. Few channels (I can't think of any right now) would successfully mix the two.
