An even better way to get rid of slimes is teleporting them all in the void, so they disappear immediately. You can use a repeating always active command block in the spawn chunks with the command /tp @e[type=slime] ~ -100 ~

One of the methods I use pre-cave update is _kinda_ cheaty, but Essentially in the superflat options I just added an extra 6 to the dirt levels, that way there was now 62 layers of dirt instead of just two, giving you nearly 20 blocks of space between y-level 40 and the surface. I use this method for pretty much all of the superflat worlds I've made and It works extremely well. The only real downside that I can think of is that you don't have as much space between the surface and the height limit, But I don't build super large structures so its never been a problem for me.

You would spawn in the height limit, with 319 layers of dirt, so you can't build anything in the start, and you would have to dig down an area (now that I think about it, it would be a very good idea for a modpack)

  • @HusbandofLois
    @HusbandofLois 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The Trench Method can still work with a few changes. If you name tag a slime it won’t despawn but every slime that splits from a big one when you kill it keep the name. So all you’d need to do is name tag 5 big slimes and fully reduce them into small slimes and you’d be past the mob cap and not have to worry about despawning. The only hard part would be getting the master librarian for the name tags, but I’m sure there’s some stupid hack or method that lets you do it in 10 minutes.

You could replace path block method with farm this allows you to get crops early game while getting rid of slimes.

i would say the water method is the most realisic method and also if you are doing a super flat world then you might as well just increase the height of dirt up to 60 so that way you will not be bothered by slime at all but i think that most players will use the water method after that to increase the efficiency of mob farms since you need to cover the land with water so you can make sure all the mobs will spawn in a mob farm during the night

I think a better way of doing it, in creative, is the same as how you got rid of the drops. "/gamerule doMobSpawning false" (iirc, it is something like that). This disables it for every mob which naturally spawns. I am pretty sure you can still use spawn eggs or /summon

Slimes may be the bane of superflat survivals existance, but bats are the bane of a normal players existance

For late game worlds just build a mob switch the same way you would do it in normal survival

May I suggest instead making a Superflat world that generate the world above y=40? On java edition, you can customize the presets of the superflat world in game (Bedrock is a bit trickier). Just add some air layers between the bedrock and dirt. Like this:
The "Classic Flat" preset looks like this: "minecraft:bedrock,2*minecraft:dirt,minecraft:grass_block;minecraft:plains".
    Change it to "minecraft:bedrock,120*minecraft:air,2*minecraft:dirt,minecraft:grass_block;minecraft:plains"
This adds 120 levels of air blocks between the bedrock and the dirt, thus the world generates the top layer at Y=60. No more Slimes in the overworld.
If you don't want the 120 block gap between the lowest dirt block and the bedrock, feel free to remove the "minecraft, bedrock," part.

Those patches sound like something a kid would ask why they exist and be explained that it was to stop an ancient plague of slimes

you can also just build a hostile mob cap filler, it looks a lot better imo becuz u can just build it in the spawn chunks and not worry about ugly path/water everywhere

Another way to do it is just make a custom super flat world that is above Y level 40 to begin with. Though it may not be “natural” super flat. I feel like it’ll be close enough to normal super flat worlds to work anyways.

even small slimes can't spawn on 1x1's, the spawning for slimes first checks for space for a full sized slime and then decides the size randomly, so a single spawnable block here and there actually has zero chance to spawn any sized slime, not just a low chance.

    *Method 4*
When creating your world go into customization under super flat setting then presets and in the text box mess around with the block layers to change it so there are more layers. What i did is made it bedrock, 30 stone, 15 dirt, 1 grass block. That way once the world generates the default surface layer is above Y40 and no slimes spawn because slimes only spawn below Y40. Ta Da. *note if you still want to kill some slimes like if you need slimeballs or etc you still can just dig down below Y40 and dig out a big area and slimes should spawn in that area.

Cool new thing you can do with 1.19 is use moss carpet, it still looks like grass and with a texture pack that i got, i dont notice the difference, plenty of moss farms on youtube that are super easy

Actually the trench method is the best. Mobs that are in the spawn chunks can never despawn because the spawn chunks are always loaded

alternative if you use subtitles/don't have care about hostiles disable hostile mob sounds which also stops the other mob sounds if you make a mobfarm

Create a Mushroom Field biome superflat world. No slimes will ever spawn, since only Mooshrooms spawn in this particular biome.
