They're actually helping, believe it or not. The gas they are likely using is methane which is a worse greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide which is what it becomes when it is burned (that and two water molecules which won't stay in the air too long). CH4 + 2 O2 ----> CO2 + 2 H2O [Edit: stoichiometry mistake, just woke up]

I was actually armed robbed and shot when watching ferro-cement videos since I was planning on advocating bio-gas generators as a ministry along with cisterns and potential geothermal cooling methods and had been working on the seawall and retaining wall restoration. Ah, the bucket brigade days of pallets of portland cement... 60/40 mix or crushed lime and muscle power with motivation.
