I am following your videos since 2014. They were a huge motivation to me along my career & they are super cool as always. Advanced topics like periodic structures or simple looking matching stub, every video leaves me with a more meaningful view. Can't thank you enough.

That is awesome to hear! I work on these lectures almost every day. They have come a far way since 2014!

Amazing, just asked myself a few days ago how does that thing work and got your video. Thank you so much.

Thanks. Im new to electronics and just amazed by RF "magic" but im pealing back the layers 1 stub at a time :)

thank you for the explanation of why the radial stub is used!!!!

@@empossible1577 i have a question, why when the stub is introduced to a poorly defined point, the resonance in the S21 gets weaker? i know that making a microstrip with a larger width will produce a lower impedance and this is going to create an abrupt discontinuty, but i dont know if that produce the poor RF short circuit behaviour we are watching.

@@redknight344 Ideally, the stub is supposed to introduce a single point of reflection along the line. When the stub is wide, it spreads the reflection over some length so it is not as reflective any more. This has the effective of weakening the filtering response.

What is the advantage in improving my bandwidth using radial stub?
I saw people using it in bias circuit, why so?

    • @empossible1577

A stub is really just the simplest possible RF filter and the radial geometry makes it a bit more broadband. If you search the literature, you can find even more complicated radial stubs geometries.

Thank you for great video. Could you tell me how can I calculate the radial stub's parameter such as radii, angle,... before any analysis in simulators?
