    The set up looks quite good now, good job! However, the centre propeller was almost certainly a 3 bladed jobbie! Pictures available are from the RMS Olympic in dry dock and show a 4 bladed propeller. A recent note book found from an engineer shows quite clearly that the Titanic was fitted with the 3 bladed propeller at the time of sailing. This has been quite a controversial point until recently. The good news is that replacements are easy enough to buy if Hachette don't pop one in as an alternative later in the build! Good luck with it! 😉

      Yes your right , it should be three blade on the centre propeller, Hachette have got a few things wrong so far such as colours of some parts !

      The big cranks on the outboard side of the engines should not move, those arms connect the drive rods to the reversing engines.

    Super cool. I hate to be that guy, but it would really benefit from a quiet motor / geartrain. Perhaps something brushless and turning at a lower RPM

    Curious to see the wyper arms on the Stephenson gear see sawing too and fro - normally these are fixed by gib head keys to the wyper shaft and not independent. They will be either in or out for Ahead or Astern - Pls can you explain?
    Also correct that in Ahead, the centre exhaust turbine drives its propeller, and in Astern, the centre propeller is idle.

      It's a model kit and that Is the way it is assembled, so it's down to the manufacturer of the kit , there is a few things on this model that are not accurate !

  • @shawnlittle3091
    @shawnlittle3091 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Pretty cool model the engine room is pretty accurate too bad the turbine room and the electrical engine room isn’t accurate but still a cool model.

      Grave error de diseño de la réplica. Los vástagos de las válvulas invaden el camino diseñado para el mantenimiento del motor . Causarían la muerte de los mecánicos de mantenimiento. Fácil de ver .

    Going full reverse sealed her fate. If they kept that center screw turning it would have forced water against the rudder,and she could have turned faster

      The engines were not commanded full astern in the attempt to avoid the iceberg.

    • @Robabin

      The engines where actually commanded all stop, so no water was being forced against her rudder

    I came across someone selling these Hachette Titanic magazines, (they gave up on buying all 140 issues) I purchased issue 3 that has parts for the one engine and smoke generator, If I'm only interested in building the two engines and driveshafts, props, which other issues do I need to get? Thanks for any help you can offer. Kind regards.

    • @kevinb897
      @kevinb897  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will need issue 3.5.6.7.10.then all issues from 26 to 40, if that helps your best bet, are to get them from Hachette as you can buy separate issues !
