From the outside view of the house, I was not thinking the inside of the house would look as good as it does. Finish up the loft and the flooring downstairs, furnish it properly and that would be a nice place to be. Just really nice with the brook flowing through--if it looks this good in the winter, I would imagine by late spring and summer it must really look great. Great job on the video--I really enjoy your videos, and thank you for the work it takes to put these together. I keep on thinking I want to find something in the Pacific NW in the Rockies (I live in Arizona), but the values in Maine are really attractive. Perhaps not the grandeur of the big mountains in the Rockies but still really beautiful there!

The river has a run of ocean species like alewives. Atlantic salmon may be present but fishing for them is not allowed. Wild Maine brook trout would be the target fishing species.
We have cleaned up our waters over the years, the salmon are having a tough time in the sea, especially Bay of Fundy fisheries. A lot of us think the commercial fishing in Greenland is likely the biggest problem. We agree, if the fish made a comeback Maine would prosper.

The cabin is well above the stream. The current owners do not have flood insurance. A flood certification would need to be done to be 100% but we doubt it.
I'd have to agree. Unfinished and patched subfloor (bathroom), unfinished siding on the garage, ragged greenhouse. Smoke alarm needing battery & beeping. All points to an uncared for property, and all easy fixes. That stairway to the loft all looks a little out of spec. The whole thing looks self built, and possibly not to code. It may or may not be in a flood plain, but it looks like the second that brook comes over that bank in the backyard, you're screwed. I'd agree that 85K sounds about right, after a thorough home inspection.
The current owners do not have flood insurance. There will be some flood zone along every brook and river. Here is a resource from FEMA to check any address msc.fema.gov/portal/search?AddressQuery=Maine?AddressQuery=Maine
What about a greenhouse is depressing. This is a HOMESTEADING property. If you want nightclubs and a bodega on every corner go somewhere else. This property needs work but is what maine is.
Beautiful. I could sit by that brook all day💖💖
Us too👍

This is gourgeous. A little expensive but if I had the credit for a home this Is what I'd want. We homestead in 5 rented acres that I so wish I owned.
👍
Acreage, structures on property, any water features, price, taxes...step your game up.🇺🇸

How much does a property like this run?
Asking price on this one is $182,500

is this in a flood zone? where did the owners go?

Lazy current owners should consider doing some finish work before putting it on the market.
