@@Stirrups There's a right way to do exactly that, and be safe. Another good example is Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer. Not everyone is literally ripping their throat apart.
@@Kwangathan I'm well aware that there are many kinds of vocal distortion that can be done safely with proper technique. I'm also aware of what it sounds like when vocal distortion isn't properly supported and the vocal folds have to be strained to get the sound. Manson's no slouch - his delivery in the 90s and early 00s was top-tier - and he definitely sounds better now than he has in ages. But there are absolutely moments in this performance where he's straining a bit too much. Listen to his delivery of "God" at 1:53 and tell me that's a healthy scream.
