This Eljer Preserver is a very good toilet - it looks like a European/UK toilet from the surface due to it very low bowl water level (as like a washdown toilet) with an open rim but it has the siphon at the end of the flush. The performance is decent enough - a good tank top open rim washdown toilet from the UK (or EU) would perform pretty much the same (take the washcloth every time and the dish towel if it was angled slightly so it does not 'ball up' but not the grocery bag due to the low water as it would air up as it gets pulled into the trapway - it would pass on a high tank as with UK high tank washdowns due to the sheer force of the water pushing everything into the trapway) as I have seen similar tests in the UK. As with the better open rim washdowns the bowl rinse and clearance is spot on and this siphonic aided one passes it perfectly. The best of both types of toilet (washdown and siphonic) this 1992 Preserver is - hence why I seriously like this toilet! If I had to give it a score I would rate it 8.5/10 (not perfect but still a damn good performing toilet which I would install).

This was called the preserver as well as a flushometer version of the Savoy and Patriot.
It's an ugly looking toilet, but so cool and interesting. And it seems to be a rather decent performer.
