Bethesda could fix the real problems with the game and make it popular with proper marketing but it seems that they just don't care, don't know how to make it profitable or don't understand its potential.
I'll never understand why Quake Champions is not more popular. There really is nothing like watching 1v1 Quake. So much fun to watch these incredibly skilled players!
The skill ceiling is so high in quake duel folks these days don't want to put the work in , we all know it sucks to get whitewashed when someone gets total map control 😂
It's not casual friendly at all compared to modern FPS. Casuals do not want to get bullied or slowly progress to get better. The game is amazing if your a Veteran, but for new players it's mostly rage quitting after a few matches. There needs to be a solution for that to bring in new players.
Look at what Q3 had when it launched and what QC has after years of "development". The base game is sub par and the esport scene is not organic. You need a good game, QC is not one.
Gotta respect the dedication of QCP, after all the years and the game not doong good, he still provides great QC content, the news, the updates, matches etc. Hats off to you 👌🏻

@ it's really sad to see the devs abandon the game. I've heard that a lot of issues stem from the fact that the game engine is mostly attributed to Saber Interactive, so ID can't really do much? I'm not sure of all the details. Regardless it sucks so much to see this franchise die like this. I'm very much saddened

Quake or Quake Champions is one of the most mechanically demanding FPS shooters of all time. I would love to see someone like iitztimmy/aceu or the other best fps players in the world try QC and go up against Rapha, or vice versa in Apex/CS etc.
@@Ldn12345 Agreed, since Quake is extremely fast paced & map-knowledge heavy/spawns/timings etc. It would take a while for other pros to get used to it, more so than Quake players playing Apex/Valorant for eg. Maybe a pure aim game like aimlabs? But then again, that's just aim. It makes me curious to see someone like TenZ try it out.

The death of Quake was Match making. I tried to find games, there are none. Part of what made Quake so good was its community and the accessibility of just browsing games with PERSISTANT servers. You would see friends play or foes. Match making was made for consoles and it has killed a few genres and games (Incl. Battlefield now too).

Not just quake. The whole enternaiment industry have turned into a steaming pile of garbage nowadays. Movies, games, and unfortunetaly it has affected quake with it aswell. Thankfully though we still have the classics to take inspiration from, and to study from , so nothing is over. The world just needs talented devs who grew up on the q1-q3 era and we'll be set.

RAISY keeps doing the same mistakes through the years, it really sad and kinda frustrating to watch. Flaws: A) picks - Scale on Ruins on LAN with so many champs left? xD Visor on Awoken while Doom still left ? (I realize he might have been trying to take it away from Rapha for the future games, but thats not the way to play this). The WB final were even worse for him. B) Bans - in the WBFinal, he didnt ban Keep. Before anyone says Raisy's keep. Rapha is F** INSANE on that map. He even mentioned it in one interview its the best map of his in comparison to others, bcs there is no rail involved, which can bring some outer elements from the game away.
Long story short - its really sad, but until he wont realize how to play around picks & bans against particular players, this will be the factor which will FOREVER prevent him from winning :) And rapha - gg's wp'd, such a joy to watch that understanding of the game. :o

Add that the player in losers need to play without a break in the grand finals, meanwhile the player on winner can rest and even watch his opponent games. Will be enough advantage to have first pick and first ban. Other option can be, best of 5 finals. If the player in winner brackets lose, he got a another Chace, do they play another best of 5.

It would have to be on a neutral game. Too steep a learning curve for players to get up to the level starting from scratch.
