Ray Washington Traylor Jr. (May 2, 1963 - September 22, 2004) was an American professional wrestler best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) under the ring name Big Boss Man, as well as for his appearances with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as the Boss, the Man, the Guardian Angel, and Big Bubba Rogers. During his appearances with the WWF, Big Boss Man held the WWF World Tag Team Championship once and the WWF Hardcore Championship four times.
The Big Boss Man started out wrestling in the late 1980's in the WWF. He teamed up with Akeem to form the Twin Towers with Slick as their manager. They later broke up and the Boss Man became a great singles wrestler. He is best known for wrestling in an light blue correctional officer's uniform and carrying a nightstick to the ring.
The Big Boss Man jumped to WCW in the mid 90's and had several names including Big Bubba Rogers, The Guardian Angel and The Boss, among others. He came back to the WWF in late 1998 as a security guard to Vince McMahon. In the Corporation, he teamed with Ken Shamrock to win the WWF Tag Team Titles and later he had the Hardcore Title. He doesn't wrestle much on TV for the WWE anymore, but he was last seen in the RAW brand of the WWE.
He was known for wrestling some of the biggest names in wrestling, including Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Andre the Giant, and the British Bulldog. He wrestled for both the WCW and WWE Heavyweight championships (against the British Bulldog and The Big Show, respectively) but never won either.
Traylor died of a heart attack on September 22, 2004, at his home in Dallas, Georgia. According to The Wrestling Observer, Traylor and his family were visiting with his sister at his home, and while his two daughters went upstairs to play, his wife Angela briefly left the room at about 10:00 p.m., and returned to find him dead on the sofa. He was 41 years old. Traylor was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016, with his wife and daughters accepting the award on his behalf.
R.I.P Big Boss Man. I was a huge WWF fan in the 90's. My favourite was your fellow Canadian Scott, Bret Hitman Hart. The British Bulldog is buried just a few miles away from my mum's house so I would like to visit his grave.
Hi Julie, The British Bulldog was from a Town called Wigan in England, I visited Wigan in 1998 as i am from Manchester, England and i met David Smith ( British Bulldog ) as he was shopping with his Mum on Wigan Market and he was the most Polite, Humble Man that you could ever meet, a total Gentleman, my Best Wishes to you and your family Julie from Carlo 🏴🇬🇧 🙏 .
@@CarloTurner-vl7rl yes I know Wigan extremely well as all my family live there. It is my second home. He is buried in Golborne which some people class as Warrington rather than Wigan as it has the Warrington postcode.
@@juliewoolner1979 I remember when i was about 8 and Mum and Dad were gonna take us to Wigan Pier and i asked Dad if we could take our Fishing Equipment and i couldn’t understand why my Dad was crying with Laughter 🤣
@@CarloTurner-vl7rl 😂😂😂
Loved the segment he did with big show. He was a true classic man

Great height...generous weight but one heck of an athlete...
Old memories I remember giving my brother the Boss Man Slam on Saturday mornings great times 😂
I’m the same way, Scott, I NEVER refer to it as “WWE” either. Big Boss Man was one of my all time favorites. Thank you so much for doing this video.
I absolutely LOVED Big Boss Man!!!!
When I was 11 or 12 my dad took me to a wwf house show at the old Boston Garden. Big Bossman wrestled IRS. It’s something I will never forget. Bossman had IRS in an abdominal stretch and was close to the ropes. As far as I was concerned wrestling was real and the Bossman had a chance to stick it to IRS. I yelled (or more screamed) “Grab the ropes” Bossman smiled and grabbed the ropes. IRS sold his ass off and acted like this was the most painful experience of his life. Those guys made wrestling real for a little kid and I will always love that memory. I will probably never make it to Dallas Georgia so thank you for letting me pay my respects through you. When your travels take you through Dallas Texas I owe you one.
Great video
as a big wrestling fan i can say he was highly underrated rip to the big bossman nice to see he still gets flowers
One of the most underrated wrestlers. He was also a good person in "real" life. As always so respectful, Scott

Another great video scott . Loved that era in wwf big bossman was a great character in wwf . R.i.p. Big bossman !
I live 2 houses away from a cemetery. It is the most peaceful place. On another note it is amazing how many 80s/90s wrestlers from WWF Era are no longer with us.
well the 80's was over 40 years ago and most guys were around 30 at this time....
@@devilwarr1or well now I feel older than normal lol thanks.
@@leameanadavis9742.....sorry.
I turn 37 in 2 months.... big bossman was 41 when he passed..... how do you think I feel right now!!

Big Boss Man was my favorite heel, and i always used him as my character on WWF Attitude on PS1
The 80s and 90s was the pinnacle of pro wrestling. R.I.P Big Boss Man. I still hear it in my head, “ From the Department of Corrections” WWF for life for me.
Loved the Big Boss Man. RIP Legend. Something I always say should've been put on his headstone. Do what you love and nobody can tell you anything else.

These wrestlers we new and loved you just can't see them passing but so young. The Big Bossman is here to stay with us forever. R.I.P.
Thank you so much for this video as well as your videos of other WWF Legends. They bring awesome memories of my childhood watching WWF with my beautiful partner my grandmother. As one of your subscribers said, "Big Boss Man will be missed but never ever forgotten." God Bless his family. Thank you Big Boss Man for the entertainment you brought to the world. God bless You.
RIP Big boss man its not the cemetery that,s scary, its the living that scares me
Exactly !
It’s so sad , it’s mad to think he was 1 of my hero wrestlers growing up as a child, now I’m 2 years away from being the same age as he was when he passed. Time seriously does fly
I always remember him running out and beating people with his officer baton. I was really surprised when he passed so young. Well done on another respectful video. 🙏
Ahhh, Big Bubba Rogers. Early Sunday morning UWF wrestling in the early 80's,late 70's. UWF was the only one our station affiliates broadcasted. Lot of legends came through, especially The Big Boss Man. The Mountie vs. Boss Man match in the WWF is classic.Thx for the memories.🙏
Wow! I didn't even know he passed. So many wrestlers pass young. Remember watching him and many others with my nephew, who is now 36 years of age. Rest n peace boss. Thanks scott.xx❤❤

Wow he sure was young! I am 39 years old , although some people say thats “old” i dont look like it or feel old for that matter. Rip bigboss man
I never he passed away. Ohhhh wow!! R I P BBM 🌹
This was such a sad tragedy. He was so young (I'm only 38 myself and can't imagine having a heartattck at just 41) it's such a shame. I hope his daughters and wife are doing well, it's really hard loosing a parent (I lost both of mine last year, only 6 months from eachother and it was and is devastating) bless you scott for visiting him. P.s I would definitely live by a cemetary, I love love love going to the cemetary personally. Much love to you scott, from the sunshine state
