I am a glam rock fan since I was a little baby so watching Endless Rain video many many years ago was just another hair metal ballad to me, but only after watching the last live version last year seeing their expressions I knew there was more behind it and I became a huge fan - like X Japan was the missing piece in my life;], I pushed their music away before for many years due to Hide's tragic story -I did not want to fall in love with him knowing he's gone (oh well but it happened anyway).,...and then after a month or so Heath passed away, are you kidding me.....btw I think that Heath and PATA were the two with the close relationship, I mean you can even see PATA wearing Heath's necklace in some recent videos.
please please watch "art of life" live by x japan,, it's yoshiki's 30 minute masterpiece that he created and they performed the full version i believe only twice in their whole career, and both times in the 90's. either yoshiki's or the x japan channel has a high quality full version, its yoshiki's insane creation.
The song Endless Rain was written and composed by the pianist/drummer Yoshiki, the lyrics depict the pain of losing his father to suicide at the age of 10, this was the first ballad he ever made, the producer heard him playing parts of it on piano and "forced" the band to add it to the next album and now it is their most listened song. This live was announced that the band is disbanding thus the name Last Live, so everyone who came to see them already knew this was the last time they are provably ever going to see this band, the band disbanded due to the vocalist being brainwashed by a cult that their band and music is evil yada-yada to leave the band, their guitarist hide (with pink hair) was found dead some months later after this live from accidental suicide while drunk, his funeral held the most attendees in a funeral in Japan after WW2 and rocked the country of Japan and more importantly the music industry, this is why the live is so.. melancholic. and yes.. the fans continued the chorus for 15 minutes after the band had left, you can feel the sadness of the fans, wishing if they would just keep singing to keep the band alive
