This is an absolutely amazing podcast information-wise. I still don't love the intro song :) but I'd listen to it all day if I can get information like this. Thank you.. thank you!

I’m definitely going to add a flow meter next year but i’m just estimating for now with my variable speed pump.

      Which pump do you have?

Flow meters are inexpensive and only take about ten minutes to install. If you are “estimating” you are really just guessing

How many hours at what speeds should I run my variable speed pump in my 18000 gallon pool? (It’s currently set at 5 hours at 2800, 11 hours at 1450, I’m not sure about the last cycle.) thank you for your answer!!

I would do the low speed at 1800 RPM for 14 hours

How about a podcast about pool with copper and when putting hardness in and turning the bottom black. Then using a little bit alum to put on top to remover it?

Hi guys, knowing all of this, I'm going to share some random thoughts for subjects. The most frustrating thing I find is the anti chlorine customers that get tricked into wanting hybrid ioniser pools that are touchy and non compliant to Australian or in particularly NSW health pool compliance in my area of service work. Number one of my findings for skin and eye irritations have been no chlorine in the pool and number 2 on the list is high pH. I've seen people swimming in an outdoor pool with 20ppm of chlorine with 30ppm of stabiliser and no complaints for high chlorine or irritation.

I’m looking at using an ionizer to add some copper but to be honest i’ve never ever had an issue with algae just using tri chlor and borates and watching my CYA levels. I may switch to salt water system to simplify things next year.

I still use the pee will turn the water purple myth on visitors. My kids think peeing in the pool is gross as it should be.

Hi, I have a question. I want to use the PoolRx on my pool and I have done a lot of research for it but the question I have is regarding the cleaning of the filter. My pool uses a de filter and my question is should I re-add de sand to the filter once I clean it or should I not add it?

    • @SPL

Yes, always add DE after cleaning it.

You have to make this way simpler for people to understand too many acronyms and parts per million talk. Running a pool for 16 hours a day come on guys be reasonable. We also cant keep up the amount of chlorine he recommends.

If you get his books it makes it easier. These are just informational talks. The books really break it down.

This is an advanced discussion aimed at persons with a Good understanding of pool chemistry. Once you learn the basics elsewhere you will appreciate this information more - it’s invaluable
