Trying to get some help/advice for my dad. He was awarded Total Disability Individual Unemployability. The award claim states he’s 70% PTSD paid at 100% and is Permanent and Total. He took that VA letter to a military facility to get he and his wife military ID’s so he can enroll my mom into CHAMPVA. The Airman told my dad they can’t give him nor my mom IDs because he’s not 100%. He called the VA and the VA said they both qualify for the same benefits and healthcare as a veteran with a Scheduled 100% P/T, but there’s nothing else they can do. They told my dad to go back and explain again. It’s not easy to do this. The military is disagreeing and it’s by appointment only. There’s a failure of communication between the VA and the military. Is there anyone on this thread that can help?
Hello! A 100% schedular rating for VA benefits means that a veteran's service-connected disabilities are considered totally disabling according to VA standards. This qualifies them for the highest level of disability compensation, including monetary benefits, health care, and other support. Have a great day!

So TDIU is similar to T&P in benefits. But the key difference is the IU (individual Unemploybility) meaning you can't work on the side. But other than that is the same benefits
@matsakix1180 the video clearly said you can work with having tdiu if it's a protected work environment and you don't earn money above the poverty line.
I’ve always wondered this… if you’re 100% disabled, WHY are you able to still work? If you’re that disabled, HOW can you work? I thought that’s what the compensation was for. I’ve seen veterans that are SC for ptsd, but yet they allowed to work as police officers. Make it make sense.
You're looking at it like the Welfare System or Child Support, you'll never understand it, you lack the aptitude to understand economics, medical synopsis social policy and how the veterans programs came to be. You have a child support mentality, truth is you dont wanna understand, you just wanna be emotional about it.
Same reason wounded veterans still fight while they are in war. If that doesn't make sense, a better question is WHY is the retention rate so low in the military right now?
Do you think 100% can pay a family’s bills, think again. House payments or rent, car payments, electricity, water, internet, house insurance, car insurance, healthcare insurance, food and that doesn’t include miscellaneous, like repairs for house or car.
100% is plenty for people like me who have a mortgage of 2.75% and who don’t pay property taxes in Florida. Your statement may be true for people outside Florida but not all. Stop spreading fear.
Yeah it’s true if you know the right people and play golf enough with someone who knows someone. Unfortunately I don’t have friends or family who works for the VA so I’m still stuck at 0%! Been applying for years with the VA. Also been trying to get employment with the VA. It’s a members only country club who will never give you a chance. I thought that being a veteran with a college degree would give me an edge for employment with that agency. Nope! 15 years of denials! Piss on the VA! If you’re thinking of joining the military, don’t do it. They’ll crap on you once you’re discharged.
Freemasons control everything. I also you to beleive the government was fair. If you worked hard you could succeed. Wrong. Is does not matter if you are qualified or have veteran preference. What truly matters if you have pleaged alligience to the "Brotherhood". Freemasonry is the religion of the opressors!

Is P/T AUTOMATIC FOR 55 AND OLDER ?
No
No you can get that at any age but your total rating has to be 100%
No I’m 42 and got it. But also have a Purple Heart as well. Not some pussy who didn’t do shit in the military
What is a scheduler 100% rating?

is TDIU and service connected ratings separate from each other? meaning can a VA 100% rating apply for TDIU? and be separate from VA rating??

@chrisboyer4194 also going based on my current knowledge but the video is correct and so are you. There are ways to be able to work with tdiu.

Its a supplement, you're looking at it as something to live off of, typically the same way your demographic views child support.

Yes it can. You just can't live anywhere you want if you want to stay within your means.
-signed 100% me
Ummmm $4k / month of tax free money isn’t enough?!? Come on now…
Only if you already have your house paid social security and a pension, then you be ok
This is cap 🧢 😂 some people have bad spending habits clearly!

If you can't get at least 10% then your story is bullsh*t
Trust me, you’re not missing anything. It’s nothing but a f’ing headache!!!!!!!!

Really stupid comment
Shut up
Yeah, try again, unwise one.
Exactly
