I think the flecktarn camo pattern is good for dark woodland camping, autumn and winter time would blend in well with the drab colours. those Gopro Hero4 cameras do make lovely timelapse's, much better than the Panasonic HC-X900 I also take along and is three times more expensive. Thanks, Damian.
Hi Damian. Only recently came across your channel and have been catching up. Love the vids like this in particular but all are fun to watch. Keep 'em coming and quite agree with comment below, don't stop the waffling. Seriously, the ability to natter to the camera so well without being self conscious is not to be taken lightly. Very few bushcrafters/wildcampers have this ability, I think.

I have the Catoma USMC IBNS one man tent, very similar in shape, Great tents for harsh weather. if you watch eBay you can catch soldiers returning home selling them off at very reasonable prices, I got mine for around $140 USD. its my GoTo tent for all my stealth camps. Another fantastic camp Damian thats a lovely valley that runs up from the white bridge and you cant beat getting high in The Cheviots. brilliant views and stunning time lapse you got there. I much prefer the hills and mountains and its always worth the effort to get up there even though it hurts lol. Its also true what you say in respecting them at all times. Great stuff bud. Mick.

I'm getting all cosmic now but it's a primal instinct - some people say we are made up of the same stuff as the stars and if we go right back I would agree with them. We need to return home. I do like me new tent and could get used to hill tenting because of the scenery, makes a nice change from woodland camping. It rained on my last trip which I've yet to upload and didn't leak so well pleased wih it, ATB.

LOL...I like your style...:) In the past, I have made a small awning to cover the open flap, mainly in the heat; worked very well, & was small & light.
I think the tarp over the door/porch is a good idea, got a siltarp1 which is 8x5 feet but will look for something a bit smaller as its just for cooking under. Thanks for watching, atb.
Jealous! Can't wait for it to begin cooling down here to do some wild camping. Here in deep south Louisiana, the heat index has been upwards of 110 to 117 degrees.
like this vid,I've got a vango banshee2,ideal size for this sort of overnighter,im ex forces and find the bivi and tarp as common place but the luxury of a tent brings the comfort level to a definite game changer,love the cooking,and all the weather,i have yet to go for a snow camp,would love to see and experience this,if you're ever going to give this a go in this area would love to get on board cheers
Thanks mark, you can park beside the white bridge that goes over the Carey Burn, then its a short walk up onto Hart Heugh. Dehydrating is the way forward, less weight, bulk and food still tastes surprisingly good. How you getting on with that new tent, the one you took up Simonside, is it coping in high wind?.. I'm into hill camping now, sick of the dark and dreary forests of Northumberland, was so refreshing to be on top of the fells for a change. ATB.
With dehydrating food, use less liquid with the initial cooking as drying takes a lot longer and use grease proof paper as this stops food falling through the gaps. Check out Mick 12thSagitarian, he has some good videos on making jerky mate, atb.
+Fell Wanderer always enjoy the tops, it's not a bad little tent, was a terrible pitch on simonside. I've been along the Carey burn , it's very nice. Humbleton hill is a canny spot. atb Mark

Nice one mate, lovely views and peace and quite. see alot of the guys using those stoves, look a bit weighty. Know what you mean about walking with a load on ya back and puffing and panting wondering why your doing it. Thats a good idea, the Miltec Recon 1 is free standing without the outer fly so would be fine under a tarp. Will definitely try that out, ATB and thanks for watching.

Thank you, I had the nightlapse on the Gopro running from around 10pm till an hour before dawn then switched to timelapse mode and left that running till around 10am. Had the camera connected to a usb battery bank to give it power for 12 hours. ATB.
nice one Damien im going up there tommorow not sure to do hart heugh,watch hill or cold law.I was going to get a 1 man mill tech tent for the hills but have decided to use a tarp in a half diamond set up with walking poles on the deck. ive just uploaded the 2 set ups take a look you might be surprised how easy it is.
A tarp and bivy is always my preferred method, it can get windy up on the fells and without the wall for shelter a tarp would have been beaten up. Thats why I've bought a tent just for hill wandering in windy or bad weather. Will look at your setups now mate, atb.
There a bit pricey but id have a look at the snugpack scorpion 2,more of a comfortable 1 man tent,,a little more head space but not much..i love it dude. good location 2,im heading off somewhere this fridaybut havnt decided on a location yet..

The cheviot hills are some of the best places in our great county
I've had one of them tents for over 2 year use it every other week end in all weathers ..... Bombproof.
