- The #Kwid five door compact from #Renault gave serious cause for concern with poor levels of adult and child protection, scoring 2 stars in today's #SaferCarsForAfrica crash test results.
From our global perspective, with successful crash test programmes in India and Latin America, we can track the varying safety equipment specifications for cars manufactured in one market and sold in others. It’s therefore surprising to note that the Renault Kwid developed for Latin America, based on the original Indian version, has a better adult and child occupant protection performance, includes standard ISOFIX anchorages as well as dual front and side airbags.

Better than S-presso in what way? This is an African spec with 2airbags. S-presso tested varient is 1airbag version. S-presso's engine is miles ahead of Kwid. Kwid don't even comes close to mechanical quality of S-presso and it's reliable unlike Kwid.

VW Polo, Honda Amaze, Ford Freestyle also one of the greatest package Because when these cars are tested, there were only 2 airbags are provided so it's Safest cars "Specially VW Polo".
In 2014 ncap conducted surprise crash test for the first time in India and Honda city was the one who managed to get 5 star. Honda city has also won prestigious J D autopower award for best quality car in its segment for more than a decade. That company is loyal to its brand and so I’m sure even this city will achieve 5 stars 👍🏻

The Kwid/Alto/Nano are all very small around 4Lakh city cars. You get what you pay for at the end of the day.
@Appu No, Nexon, Xuv300 are mid Size compact (pseudo) Suvs, while Altroz is a premium hatchback, when people say small cars they mean Alto, Kwid, Santro, WaganR, Tiago etc.

In small cars u get Tiago.. And that's very strongly built.
4* in NCAP and great build quality in real life accidents also.
Tiago is anyday a much better choice than the Alto and Kwid.

Why is the base model with 1 airbag not tested? Global NCAP always says base model is tested. The Kwid STD has only 1 airbag as standard. And global NCAP is giving double standards.

The Kwid is unsafe but you can get one for 4lakh on road and the Tiago is atleast 5.5-6lakh on road. Go explain the price difference to someone who barely has any money to move up from a motorcycle to car to drive in the city. Kuch bhi bolega.
