The "tank" from tbogt is actualy an APC, and APC in real life has amphibious capability. So it make sense that the vehicle get floating
Well, there are Tanks that float in GTA Online
no. most APC are fitted for cargo or soldier space, they all weight very much. so they are not amphibious. at least most, a small ammount of APC's produced do are. but still. Cargo and Soldier space really matters more that the amphibous part of the APC.

Edit to those wondering: I lost my account from about 5-6 years ago, the one I discovered this OG with, so
I used to use a trainer in gta vc which used to give your vehicle a force shield and I used to fire backwards and throwing the cars into the sky with my tank it was so

Well weight is what defines the force with which it's pulled downwards, if it floats it simply means that water is applying a force equal to it's mass

For Gta 3 and Vice City, I think that as we can see in "getting into the vehicle" animation most of the space is empty so it means there is too much air maybe more than a car which makes them float in water. And the car destruction at slow speed in gta 5 is too insane.

The speed of the "tank" in TBoGT doesn't change when shooting backwards is because that is not a tank, just an armoured vehicle and the caliber it uses is smaller than what tanks use
I know he just uses anything that is closest to a tank

Actually, in some other languages, tanks could be classified as "combat vehicle", "armored vehicle" or "assault vehicle", so that's include the APC from TBoGT, that is an armored combat tank, but without tracks

III and Vice City have exactly the same engine and mechanics. They were supposed to be connected before VC became a separate project so a lot of things stayed the same in both games

Little correction, heavy objects sink because they either have no air in them or very little, and in this case, a tank has bad wright/air ratio so it sinks.
Ships are massive, and weight a LOT. But they stay afloat thanks to the weight/air ratio and the shape of the hull.
Just wanted to clarify since most people think things sink due to weight, when its actually about buoyancy.
