@@JuanMendoza-qd5lm after 6 months I've learned to accept it. I started working at the comic shop he founded in my spare time to help keep his memory alive. I just hope he passed on by now and isn't still wandering around somewhere as a ghost. Either way, I'll see him again one day.

I was born in the 90s. The good times. I liked the 90s-2014. I feel like things went downhill from there.
The year is 1987. The world is still a small place, but things look smaller than ever as you stare out the window of your apartment on the 34th floor. The music from Lounge 35 wafts downward in distorted form from the floor above, adding to the scenes unfolding almost 350ft below. The city is alive, further still it was contented and at peace. Everything matched the erie tones as the music echoed off the vents between the floors. The sun sets, slowly, keeping in rhythm with the music...

I have experienced *B O T H* in vaporwave.
Lived through the old school. A lot of it cheesy but so good.
I experienced the eighties. Still nostalgic for some of it (the music in particular)
Exotics and Dream sax hit me like a ton of bricks. I was listening to these two tracks when my City already waned after a rough patch of political chaos and turmoil. They take me back to the good old days, reminding me of the past glories of the city I call home, which I fear are nothing but distant memories now.

This album transmits too much tranquility and melancholy, and even more with the nostalgic artwork it has, perfect to listen to it a few hours before the end of the year.
This album makes me yearn for something that feels close but somehow so far out of reach. Like it's from an alternate dimension but somehow so familiar. It makes me feel grounded in a world that feels increasingly demented and insane that I don't want to be a part of anymore. This music makes everything so clear.
Please god let the world see better times soon, I'm ready. We all are.
I went off on a bit of a tangent but I hope somebody, whoever they are, wherever they are, will see this and take something from it.

Being an old millennial who grew up in LA this brings back memories of when we got our weather information from the TV lol. The weather channel always played bangers like these.

From the very beginning the album takes me to a time I've never known
Well, I grew up in the eighties, and I was at coked out parties on the highest floors of skyscrapers, and given my very moderate size, I was used to underboob visions so much that my last real boner happened at age 10. I was the baby pusher of the family so everything was normal to me, with maybe the exception of that hot summer day in Miami, a fateful day for a guy who thought he was smarter than my Dad, who consecutively to an incredibly ballsy but still wrong snitch-and-lie move, chainsawed the motherfucker in his shower. So you see, some few unpleasant events aside, it wasn't so much a thrilling existence or something you would want to tell your grandkids. I loved the nineties though. Kurt Kobain, Twin Towers doing just like in Elton John's song - "still standing" and other cool stuff you certainly liked living much more than reading a boring list of right now.

The skyscrapers along the coast are far enough away that they begin to create a magenta and gold tapestry of the setting sun. Your other hand guides the mahogany wheel of your 1983 Sea Ray along the glimmering silhouette of the coastline, toward endless possibilities.

Sunday noon is my favorite track. It captures that magical early vaporwave era that I miss so much, when I was still discovering vaporwave a couple of years ago and had no idea what that genre was and where it came from. I really believed vaporwave was a forgotten japanese 90s underground genre.

Driving on I-278 through NYC at sunset with this on is quite the experience.
What an incredible album. Ever since I discovered vcr-classique I knew they were on the way to making a killer album. This is it. Mellow grooves, calming smooth jazz feel, and all coated in that VHS haze that classique is known for. Absolutely stunning.

it's 1994 again. Friday evening sometime around 8 or 9. I'm wandering around target greatland with my mother. Transformers, power rangers, and megaman on the shelves, smell of that old sequence carpet, those dirty metal shelves with the little railings, super nintendo and sega genesis posters all over the game isles, I'm wearing my favorite colorful striped long sleeve tshirt. We meet up with my dad and sister. Dad's a softy and let's sis and I pick out a reasonable toy. She gets polly-pocket something or other and I get a yellow Scrapper Decepticon. Dad and Mom are looking at clothes while sister and I play hide and seek in those weird circular fixtures. On drive home I tell dad I never want to get old. he says not to worry about it--tomorrow is Saturday...
I love how I can always find albums in this genre that are such hidden gems among the enormous catalog of vapour. These tracks are just so damn good, so fucking smooth and clean that I got warped straight back to ‘87... good job vcr classique, well done

There are few genres that provide the peace and comfort of vaporwave. It makes me feel warm and helps me forget the pain of this life. I've lost multiple friends to self deletion, the only true love I've ever known broke my heart beyond repair, my band broke up last year, and I fell on bad financial times at the same time, which resulted in me having to move back in with my parents to figure out what's next for me. I've struggled with extreme social anxiety since childhood and in recent years, depression. If any of this applies to anyone reading it, I want you to hold on. Just hold on. Call up that old friend. Listen to music you love. Watch that movie you're loved since childhood. Take a walk in the park nearest to you. Do what makes you happy. Be patient. It will get better. Thank you vapor memory.

@@thegoldenrules9370 well said, and it often DOES get worse before it gets better. Life is unpredictable. I find it easier to just avoid long term thoughts, take things on a day by day basis, and take comfort in the small joys. Things that made me happy when I was a child.
@@nadaworldrecords nostalgia and returning back to childhood is a tool most people don't utilize, and the ones who do have tons of new intresting fun that is feels extremely satisfying. Think deeply of the first times u saw certain faces family etc, u start to trip out a bit in real time, or just start smiling in a special way.. great stuff
